Surely the not going to pay me to use electricity?
    Surely they are!
If you've got an immersion heater you rarely use, tonight will be the time to try it out.
Negative prices seem to be from about 0230 to 0530, so if you don't have a timer and aren't going clubbing you might need to set an alarm clock :D

    Winner!

Oil filled radiator on a smart plug and timer on the washing machine.

Fag packet maths shows I should be roughly 20p better off after using approx 7kWh of electricity between 1 and 6 am :D

Plug a big enough heater in and Octopus will owe you, not vice-versa
(Although at a max of 8p/kWh it would need to be *really* big. A megawatt or so might do it, you'd save up to £80 an hour.)
