Oil filled radiator on a smart plug and timer on the washing machine.
Fag packet maths shows I should be roughly 20p better off after using approx 7kWh of electricity between 1 and 6 am

In fact, run a club from your house from 2.30-5.30. Get everyone round after the pub chucks them out, bring your own beer, all lights blazing, cook up some snacks after 2.30, a few sausage rolls and chip butties, £10 each, quids in

Plug a big enough heater in and Octopus will owe you, not vice-versa
(Although at a max of 8p/kWh it would need to be *really* big. A megawatt or so might do it, you'd save up to £80 an hour.)

Anyone have an oven with a timer? Set it on high heat with the door open, will be lovely and warm downstair when you get up tomorrow morning.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
