Positive posts on the energy forum? Whatever next? 😮
Off on a tangent, if there isn't already a provider called "Positive Energy" there should be!0 -
There is, but they're business-only:inkydolphin said:Positive posts on the energy forum? Whatever next? 😮

Tomorrow's pricing is showing the effect of the EPG. It's a bit ... odd ... to see the Agile price plateau for most of the day.

Is odd the site it shows Agile flat line at 33p for my region but then later goes up to 60p. One page for all Agile tariffs combined perhaps adds a bit of confusion.QrizB said:Tomorrow's pricing is showing the effect of the EPG. Still over the moon with the earlier plunge "happy hour" but I have now started thinking about moving back to the Go tariff for the winter. However, when I compared Agile and Go tariffs using the Octopus Compare app, it said that I had made a saving with Agile in the past week (could be to do with the plunge rate I suppose), so I'm having second thoughts about the move.
Looking at today's Agile rates, for example, there are a couple of some nice mini plunges where I plan to charge our PV battery and run the air-source heat pump, so I think we will stick with Agile for a bit longer. After all, with the energy price guarantee, even the average Agile top rates have come down from the previous 78p/kWh and are now averaging 34p/kWh mark whereas with Go it's 40p/kWh except for the 4 hrs at night when it's 7.5p but you can only do so much during 4 hrs.
Keeping my fingers crossed for more windy weather, as that seems to push the Agile rates down.

You are about 2 years too late. Factor into your equation supply versus demand. Demand will increase in the next few weeks as electricity-only consumers turn on their electric heating.Finnscot71 said:Still over the moon with the earlier plunge "happy hour" but I have now started thinking about moving back to the Go tariff for the winter. Oh, hadn't thought of that. However, the energy price guarantee discount is applied to Agile tariffs too, so that should keep the rates lower than maybe in previous winters. Just need to wait and see. It seems to take longer than usual to get a reply from Octopus, at least to my emails.0

I should have added the seasonal decline in PV solar also reduces supply during the Winter months.Finnscot71 said:Oh, hadn't thought of that. Yeah, sorry about that....I'm planning on holding off until at least November 1st if at all possible though, if that helps?![Deleted User] said:

Going down to 18p unit during the afternoon on a week day feels quite satisfying.
Non TOU tariffs feel so outdated now.1
