GSX parking fine basin road portslade

Hi, some time ago I had to take an urgent phone call so pulled over safely to a parking bay of about 15-20 spaces (only 3 were occupied) and I failed to notice the signage at the time, I since then received a letter of the parking fine so I appealed the decision and explained the situation to them but they rejected this appeal. I since ignored the rejection e-mail as I was livid at their reasoning and suffering from mental anxiety at the time, until I got another letter recently from them demanding payment of £160.
I cannot find the Landowner to complain too, I can't seem to follow the NEWBIE thread very well as this is already some months on from the first parking fine letter. I cannot afford to part with £160 in these desperately difficult financial times (I need that money for food, heating etc), I'm not very good with that so can someone help please, my mental state is not sufficient enough to deal with this and I fear it may lead to personal issues due to the stress & worry caused especially after the mental health issues I've already suffered this year, it's simply too much and I don't have anyone close to help me, so can someone please help
Thank you/

Where was this parking bay (Post Code)? We may have come across it before. What is the name of the private parking company (PPC) that is chasing you? Did the chase letter come from the PPC or from (I suspect) a debt collection agency (DCA)? What did the chase letter say? Did it give you 30 days to pay/respond or only 14 days? You seem to be doing OK with following the NEWBIE advice so far, you have appealed (did you state who was driving) and then ignored the debt letter. Continue to ignore letters from DCAs and only respond to a REAL letter before/of claim.1

Basin Road North or Basin Road South?
@Coupon-mad knows this area very well and will no doubt comment.3 -
GSX can be ignored. Come back if and when they file a court claim.
They have predatory filming by remote CCTV and a lack of signs to warn you.
In Southwick/Portslade you could have parked in any public street on or near the seafront, all of which is unrestricted.
The very last place to seek out to take a call is a parking bay or private car park. Literally avoid them like the plague in East or West Sussex.
Drivers don't need a car park to park a car. Don't use bays or car parks to take calls nor to wait for passengers, or unload anything. All of that is allowed at the kerb on any public road and you can't get a PCN.
Loads of Brighton threads about GSX at the Port. Read a few GSX threads by searching then sit tight. No-one pays.
Landowner to complain to is Shoreham Port Authority.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you all & @Coupon-mad for the replies, I have been away and come home to another letter this time by a Debt Collection company called "trace debt recovery" acting on behalf of GSX Services Ltd asking for payment - I'm not paying, so should I ignore this letter? Many Thanks again.

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters but to summarise that post - ignore them.2

Hi guys, similar to @Saitek79 I got a letter from GXS exactly at the same place stating that they want me to pay them 160£. In the last email of correspondence I had with them I actually wanted to pay the discounted price as I didn't want to spend hours reading and then dealing with court claims. That was back in 03.09.21 which is over a year now and they didn't even care to respond to my email so then I ignored it and have not paid.
My question is: Can I tell them to stop harassing me with these letters since it's been too long ago and they have failed to answer my email and would this be of any help or they will just carry on with these auto letters until/if they decide to take it to court. I am planning to ignore it, but I thought there may be a deadline to when they can decide to take me to court and can simply scrap it if I tell them something.0 -
Ignore unless you get a court claim3

My question is: Can I tell them to stop harassing me with these letters since it's been too long ago and they have failed to answer my emailThey can continue to pursue you for ever if they so choose (unlikely, but theoretically). The good news for you is that after 6 years they can no longer pursue you through the courts.Any help? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

As well as the above advice, please start your own thread/discussion as it can get messy and confusing trying to respond to two posters on one thread.2

Hi, I'm now getting letters from BWLegal about paying up, they even offer monthly instalments. When does this end? I'm standing firm and maintain I did nothing wrong and I refuse to pay for anything. But I'm getting text messages, e-mails & letters, when does this actually border on harassment? Should I reply to them or continue to ignore? thanks
