I have just received an email saying that I am eligible for a seasonal booster vaccine...I am 49 and do not fit any of the other criteria...are they offering it to people who are borderline too due to low uptake?

Who gets a seasonal booster ?
    Over 50's or over 65's or 75's ?
    I am confused
I am 59 and at high risk anyway - so "should" be entitled to one

I had a text message from the NHS inviting me to book a booster. I have done so online with no problems.  I am 65 with no health concerns which would bump me up the list, maybe it depends on location and availability ?   You could always try online and if youre not eligible it will say why.

I too received the txt message - but in the past, my GP has done all of the donkey work and invited me for a booster - nothing heard from my GP this time - dont know whether to book my own (with a 20+ mile journey)

If you are 65 or older, or if you are younger than 65 and have had the extra jabs because you were classed as extremely vulnerable (you should have had 5 up to now) then you are now due the Autumn booster in the first tranche.
I got mine (6th) yesterday. I was CEV during Covid, but I'm 65 as well now.
  • Yeah - but the age appears to be confused for those without any medical issues

I’ve been offered mine (age 50-64, no health issues) via a text from my surgery saying I could book via the appointments section of the NHS app. No appointments available for my category for 3 weeks, but at least it’s booked.

I’m wondering if the fact my surgery has sent me a message to book means I can use the NHS website to book somewhere else earlier?…
