We have an E7 meter, how can I find out if this will affect us? Sorry, don't know much about the meter.

Is your meter a smart meter? If so, you won't be affected.
If it isn't a smart meter, post a photo and someone will help work out if you need to investigate further.

    No, not a smart meter.
    Hope this picture is OK.

I don't think that is an RTS meter.

Landis + Gyr 5246C.  Isn't that a 5-terminal meter (one switched live and one un-switched live)?

If so, off-peak is when the light next to 100A  (the top one) is red.  Can't easily read the time off those without downloading the firmware IIRC.
Looks the same as mine. 7 hours fixed E7 output, mine runs from around 00:08 to 07:08 GMT meaning that in summer the E7 is available from 1am until 8am which is useful. Wish it was the other way around though.

The clock on mine is 7 minutes slow now after all these years. No way (for me) to correct it though.

The loud click is simply the heavy-duty relay connecting the switched E7 output to the load.
  • This is my meter, may ask if this affects me? No smart meter

  • @Getferret that's a mechanical timer so not RTS.

That's a good photo, thank you
You've got a 5-terminal digital meter. The clock is internal to the meter and you're not affected by the end of the RTS service.

Thanks. I'm not really sure how you would tell. I hear the meter switch from the cupboard when E7 hours finish.macman said:
