I have been writing lists (have a rough outline of this week, next month and everything else), continued to sort through bags of tools (mainly sorting and the screws and other bits today, a long slow job but quite satisfying) and have done a bit of green waste. On sack of sawn smaller branches, one bag twigs and handfuls of leaf litter, being careful to avoid any nettles and I pulled apart the lid from an old basket (large tray size - made of grasses so it's compostable). Mentioned the gadgets to Beloved, she will look through and see what is going with them, when they leave and what needs to be disposed of. I have also started tossing the bricks from the fallen wall into their yard - need to clear the backs so my work people can mend my part of the wall and sweep up glass and clear the drains.
Sore throat is back but I'm hoping it's just because of the way I slept and not the latest round of winter bug.
Grateful for making progress, having a sketch of the coming month and tinned comfort food - rice pudding, baked beans and soup9 -
A sunny but breezy day on our island. Did yoga before breakfast. Collected DS3 from a sleepover, then me & DH did a 4.5 mile walk (isn't he doing fantastic?!!) & dropped some flowers & a card at my friend's, who's uncle has just died. Had dinner & read a chapter of my book, then went outside & raked both lawns, as the grass was too wet yesterday to collect in the mower basket. Took plants down from a high shelf in the greenhouse for DH. Did 2 sewing jobs & the ironing. After tea I washed dishes, wound more embroidery threads on to cards & had a bath, where I finished my book 😃
Grateful for DH doing well, getting things done outside, nice storiesUse it up, wear it out

Today I am mostly grateful that I have real eyebrows again and not just pencil ones 😁🙄 ok - they need some work, but they are there!
Also grateful for easy dinner (pasta and dough balls) , for a new to me jumper (Cr3w - I wouldn't pay those prices!) that I shall wear tomorrow, for heated airers to get laundry dry in this weather, for getting rid of a handful more items from this houseI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2011 -
Well done, Mr Thrifty! I can't remember if you have said which island you live on, but I reckon you must know every inch of it, with all your long walks!

Happy Halloween 🎃! We made it to the end of the month. I didn't get everything completed that I wanted but a fresh month tomorrow.
Yesterday dh picked up some boxes so that I could organise our c decorations. I was so excited to get them 🤣. I am going to aim to finish organising and cleaning and decluttering the loft this week now that 2/3 of my dc will be back @ school tomorrow.2024 decluttering Campaign

Thank for this month f0xh0les, any shortcomings are my own responsibility. I'm feeling much more hopeful, still lots of hurdles to jump (metaphorically only), a herd of elephants to herd, frogs to squash, and squirrels everywhere instead of ducks in a row but I will get there, one step at a time (occasionally collapsing onto the chaise longue or the nearest bench but keeping my breathing slow and even).10

Good morning,
Will catch up with the thread later.
Payday today, yay, and got a bonus from work, unfortunately the taxman took 180 of the £500. Still better than nothing and goes straight towards the CC.
Got a fair bit of painting in the kids room this weekend, otherwise not much to report.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258 -
My gratitudes for October (as I missed posting loads due to RL getting busy):
My kids, my light bulb moment, for having a plan to be debt free (so far going well...), for a new challenge which is going to tackle one of the things on my bucket list (marathon), a home which is filled with giggles, food in my belly, cardboard boxes to start tackling the decluttering and organising this house desperately needs, the look on my kids faces when they found the sweets I hid around the house this morning. For my good health (don't often realise how lucky I am), for my dh.

@grandmanerd re: the tools you are sorting out. There's a charity called Tools with a Mission (twam.uk) who repair old tools and make kits for people in Africa to set up in business. Their website will have contact details for their nearest rep. We sorted my dad's garage a while ago and they took loads of things we thought were no good, so it's better than them going to landfill. Hope this helps x.2025 Fashion on the ration
