NST OCTOBER 2022: Autumn Leaves and Sloe Berries

Thank you for your kind words @Esmeralda2662 @hazeldreams @beanielou. Laughed out loud at the doctor from Planet Bong comment!
I've had a lovely day. My 2 work besties came over after breakfast, with 2 dogs (1 owned by one of them, the other belonging to her friend) We walked round the block, neither of them had been that way before & the dogs loved running in the burn (small stream). The sun was shining & it was quite warm. Laughed lots & put the world to rights.
Not long after I'd got home, I then went on another walk, this time with DH to the village to deliver a birthday present to another friend. Had a laugh with her too.
Had dinner, then I cut the grass in the front garden. Hubby came out to show me what he needed moving in the greenhouse, only to notice that the septic tank pipe was blocked. He gave me guidance & I rodded it, I told him it was a good job he wasn't married to a Barbie doll! 🤣 It'd be the last thing she'd do! Cut the other lawn, it was quite long, so think I'll have to rake it up tomorrow.
Took one lot of washing in & was in the middle of putting another lot out, when my neighbour shouted over the fence that he'd caught large vermin #9. I hmmd at him, then said I was quite annoyer with him, because less than 24hrs after DH was home from hospital, he was showing him another caught large vermin & explaining how to set a trap! I said we'd get on to it, but DH had had a serious operation, now has no immune system & has other priorities at the moment!! He apologised & scuttled off with his tail between his legs! It felt good to get it off my chest, as it'd been playing on my mind.
Collected DS3 & his friend from the cinema, then finished my tea when I got home & washed the dishes. Thinking of heading to bed with my book.
Grateful for a beautiful day, time with friends, jobs done outside, that there was no poonami, telling a silly man off & not letting him get away with upsetting usUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

@hazeldreams - what a pain the gas heater not working but better to find out now than in the depths of winter.
@idee - so sorry to hear about your friend being burgled and home being trashed. That's a lovely idea to send some flowers.
Had a brief foray into the garage to start emptying it of clutter. Mum's made a start but it's always much easier for her to throw my stuff away than her own, especially when she has no idea what it is!
Took a big box of ink stamping blocks (that i'd been given but will never use) to the CS along with a bag of clothes. Dropped 2 bags of clothes off yesterday at another CS. Still have lots to plough through.
Took mum shopping and we also looked in the charity shops. I got a book and 4 dvds for the winter nights.
OH finally got out on his motorbike. Came back with a new leather biking jacket which fits him and looks quite good. No fringing, thank goodness. He's needed one for a while and has worked hard to pay for it. Cheered him up as he was miserable this morning and a bit snappy. Retail therapy (and speed) obviously work for him too! He also bought a new blanket for the cat which she will not lie on!
Finally got to pump my car tyres up. In trouble with OH as one tyre was a lot lower than it should be. Hopefully safer now and more miles per gallon.
Gratitudes: tyres done, OH happier, book and dvds ready, 2 pretty cards to put away from the Factory of Cards. Just realised I could have had 3 for 2 so I'm not grateful about that, silly person that I am!

P.s.
@Thrifty_Taylor - I don't even want to imagine a poonami!
Also, 33 year old son went to doctors yesterday and was not impressed by having to see a doctor who looked like he was about 12!This tickled me as I thought it was just oldies that thought like this!

Morning all,
Yesterday's updates;
Outside 50 min morning walk and 40 min evening walk with pooch. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the evening one. Have loved having space and energy to make the time for this while being on leave.
Inside Nothing - lots of time out and about yesterday.
Fun Chatting with sister and discovering a gorgeous little coffee shop right on our doorstep which is cheap as chips.
Food/Drink AF 17/31. Managed more than 10 fruit/veg again yesterday (I think it was nearer to 20 portions!) thanks to the breakfast smoothie, small portion of mushroom pasta leftovers and large salad for lunch, and Jamie Oliver veg stew for tea. Did have cake at the coffee shop (bought by my sister as I'd forked out tons in coffees when my niece was in hospital for her) and also had chocolate on the evening while watching The Voice. Today, I've got breakfast smoothie again, theres still a small amount leftover mushroom pasta for lunch and a bit of broccoli and stilton soup. Having Sunday roast for dinner with all the veg trimmings, so should smash the veg intake again today.
Read No, but still listening to DR podcast.
Plan 4 Dec Nothing.
Gratitudes Grateful for the pooch trying to join in yoga with this morning by doing down dog next to me and licking my faceto make me laugh, for DD1 deciding not to stay over at a friends because they were all going to keep drinking and she didn't want to, for feeling like I've had the time and made the time for mom, dad and sister this week. I'm a 'fixer' but I'm learning that I can't fix everything for everyone. Just my time is enough.
Yoga/Meditation I did lie in today because I was out picking DD1 up at midnight and she was 40 mins away. Didn't really sleep then until about 1.30am. But, my body clock is so in tune with 9.30pm-5.30am, I was awake at 5.30 anyway. I did go back to sleep but it was disturbed and I gave up at 7am. Managed 10 mins of yoga and meditation. Did it in the kitchen so I could look at the gorgeous autumnal trees as I practised.
Spending 7/10 NSDs still as I did buy a few half price Halloween items as our window dressings have been looking very poor. Only spent £4.50 on that. I did however indulge in a big 'want'. We were at a garden centre for our coffee and I spotted the most amazing pumpkin/flower arrangement. I did get 10% off but I haven't spent on anything like that for a very long time. I am in love with it, but I am regretting it this morning. Today and Monday must be NSDs, I really want to beat last month and get as near to 10 as possible.

Woke up early today despite the clocks changing, must've been about 6ish, back was sore so I just decided to get up after a while. Dealt with a few frogs this morning then went to see my share pony at lunchtime. Paid for schooling but that money comes out of my "pony pot" so hasn't come from the budget. Went home via a coffee shop to get a hungover OH a coffee
I'm too nice to him clearly. Wondering whether we should invest in a halfway decent coffee machine, his mum bought him one that takes those pod things and he never used it, just wonder if we had a "proper" one whether we'd both benefit from it... might be worth a think long-term.
Baked some brownies this afternoon and will do an early dinner shortly.9 -
So sorry to have abandoned you all! When I started the month I had 2 days of work booked, I end the month with 2 part time jobs, and having turned down another full time job.I have been reading along the last few days, keeping a beady eye on you! I got up this morning, raided the fruit bowl for all the sad scrumped apples, and the sad punnet of plums from Mr L's Magic F&V box last week. Made 2 big crumbles. Ho Ho Ho!Tomorrow is the last day of October. Payday for many of us. I hope there is still money in your coffers - I must say that tomorrow, when I get paid, I will only have about £11 left of my budget for this month, but that for me is a success. I made double figures on the NSDs (just!). I earned money from 3 different sources, and an ambient income from p/academic.- lcc I have a coffee machine we use every day, we buy coffee from Herr L's shopping warehouse, but the ground coffee has mysteriously disappeared from the shelf for the last 3 or 4 weeks. It is brilliant. The only waste is the coffee grounds, which you can lob on the garden or in the compost.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening turtles can’t believe it’s already Halloween tomorrow. 🎃
Outside - DS footy match outside. He had to play a team that his best mates play on! They lost but his attitude was great, really proud of him. Didn’t tidy up outside again, I have no excuse for this. Tomorrow I plan to at least take down some solar lights that no longer work.
Inside - Did the ironing & made hm soup for next 3 days. Put up some Halloween decorations ready for tomorrow.
Fun - My niece came to visit. Was lovely to catch up.
Food / alcohol - Healthy food but had alcohol. Need to keep it 2 a max of 2 nights a week as creeping to 3.
Read - none today
Plan for December - DH joined c0stco. I can’t see the appeal. Went today to look for December items but didn’t buy anything. The main day looks like us 3 & my parents at some point. My sister & her family have made other plans.
NSD yes 15/15.
MSE - Read a few DFW diaries. Very inspiring.
Gratitude - This forum, DH contributing to a birthday gift, for having £10 in my fuel pot & 45p in my main account before pay day tomorrow. Although once received it’s already allocated. Reaching NSD target, it’s harder than I thought.
