Update from me:
I am showered, dressed, children away to school and animals fed. Chilli in the slow cooker, small fortune spent on additional fencing measures!
Electric meter reading taken and submitted, bin dragged back in and bikes tidied away. Breakfast now x9 -
Quick check in as didn't update yesterday.
Continuing to follow the lists but a bit behind on them so as I have a completely free day today I am going to play catch up. Got to say my home is looking cleaner already and I am keeping on top of the areas done.
Dropped my 2 foster boys at their school bus stops, they go to separate schools miles apart. Came back stripped the bed and currently in WM. tidied away breakfast things, S&S kitchen, cleaned a couple of fridge shelves and sorted out food in there as online shop coming at 10am. I have meal planned all week so feeling quite smug 🤪

We were going food shopping but I can barely walk today. My medication has made me so unwell I am simply not taking it until my body settles down again. I am dehydrated, in pain and really light-headed. I fell going up the stairs yesterday.
DS1 asked me yesterday at what point people stop 'falling over' and start to 'have a fall' .. I said when they stop being able to get back up again! Spoons, sticks and a few braves spare here. You can have a hug as well if you need one Valli x
Thanks ASB you lovely person. I have this persona at work that is so far removed from the real me it's not true. Thankfully I can be myself here.
DS messaged me at 1.10am to say he was clocking out at work after doing 32 hours in 3 days. He is starting to do a bit of driving at work which I try not to think about, the prospect of him driving tired always worries me.
It's cold here, we havent had the heating on but have lit the fire. Have to say the fire isnt really doing much at the moment but I have my heated blanket so it's bearable. Clean washing put away, two loads dried outside today, pie made for tea from leftover stew in the freezer. Cycled in and back. Working from home tomorrow.7 -

Narc0, I have office tidying envy. DH bought a new laptop about 6 weeks ago, as our old one needs winding up, it is so slow. As far as I know, the new one is still untouched. Ditto the printer, which I was instructed to buy a couple of weeks ago, and which has now taken up residence on the landing, it seems.
Today's progress is that all necessary report paperwork from loft i.e. those over 7yrs old have been removed, the electronic copy of the reports etc deleted from computer. Today we started burning (in the chiminea) all old stuff, which prompted me to cost shredders.....then decided to take it to uni and dispose of in their confidential waste bags. I think my old computer is ready enough for Mr N to take over, so he's been clearing space for it on his desk. I've been clearing my desk and while I was about it, cleaned the windows - it's lovely to have 3 bird feeders just outside my study window, but it makes the windows messy.
Also started tidying bedroom which is knee-deep in dust.
Took 'welcome to your new home' card round to new neighbours.
Poor Mr N went (half an hours drive and £1 for parking) to see the consultant in the long-awaited appointment only to find they had cancelled it, in August apparently, and not told him. Receptionist apparently mortified and gave him details of how to complain. Next appt 18 Oct. I've rarely seen him so downcast; that pretty much rules out any motor biking/cycling this year now as the weather will be cold.
Off to zumba now and plan to do a few swimming lengths to leave me fewer tomorrow as I anticipate the lake will be getting chilly.
Get well wishes for Mr Iona.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Thanks to everyone sending GWS wishes to my DH. Fortunately his Covid test came back negative, and this evening he has been moved from the isolation ward onto the Acute Medical Unit. He is still not at all well, but in the right place now. I feel the likelihood of me getting to the Grandparents Tea slipping further away with each day that passes.
Very sorry to hear about MrN's cancelled appointment. It is sooooo frustrating when that sort of thing happens. I hope he gets seen soon.
Today I have
- been to my meeting
- done a top-up shop on the way home
- done WMx5 and hung it all out on the whirly
- dried off a few bits in the TD and will hang the rest in the bathroom.
Tomorrow I have to remember to take Rosie to the kennels before 9.30, and I'll go and see DH after an early lunch.
G'night all xxx9
