Octopus have adjusted my direct debit

Not being pedantic at all, you seem to be missing the upcoming price rise and its effect.2

DD will have to increase because Gas is about to go up 40%.2

Have they actually done that bit yet though?Deleted_User said:

No, because prices are about to go up.Deleted_User said:
It's being reduced because the government is paying £66 into your account for you. If your DD was enough before that change, it's still enough now.Deleted_User said:My monthly Direct Debit with Octopus is also being reduced by £66 from October. Although, of course, I'm really pleased, I'll be keeping a watch on my meter readings to make sure I don't get into debt by not paying enough - especially with winter coming.
If your DD after accounting for the price rise but before the change due to the government rebate was enough, then your DD after accounting for the price rise and including the change due to the government rebate will still be enough.1 -
Octopus have not as of now increased direct debits to take into account October 1st price increase, Krakkkers is entirely correct,Deleted_User said:

Mine has gone down to zero. On Go fixed to 1 May so won’t be seeing any increase in rates until then. Not sure if the extra £6 will be added to my credit or paid to my bank, will just have to wait see.

"if it's a case where your monthly DD is less than £67.00, the excess will be credited to your energy account to contribute towards future charges"

Correct they haven't done it yet, but irrelevant to the point I was replying to - the poster was saying that they needed to watch usage very carefully now that their DD had been moved down by the government's £66. If you notice, someone else asked basically the same question a post or two later.bristolleedsfan said:

Needing to put the DD up to cover price rises is a completely different matter.1 -
yes if you searched for the existing threadoliverbrown said:Octopus have significantly reduced my direct debit which I wasn't expecting. Has anyone else seen any changes?

I just dont understand why Octopus wont explain on the dash why the changes are been done or at the very least link to their blog page from the dash, no email, no info on dash, just the change.0 -
Correct me if I'm wrong but Octopus appear to be reducing my Direct Debit by £67 (£245 down to £178) from 1st October not the £66 as posted in their blog https://octopus.energy/blog/energy-crisis-support/#400energybillspayment ?Are they incapable of doing simple arithmetic?

I think things will become clear once the first payment after 1 Oct goes out and the new prices/£66 credit have been taken account of. We'll all go "ohhh so that's how it all works!"0
