I have exactly the same as I had increased my DD to £250 to take advantage of the Santander 123 Lite current account double cashback offer.[Deleted User] said:
Heard nothing directly, and nothing at all about tariffs, but my online account is very clear about DDs.FreeBear said:
Apart from the regular reminder about meter readings and subsequent bill, I've not heard a dickie bird from Eon.Next. Still no idea what my rates will be from next month or the level of DD.DeeQS said: Anyone else confused by EON Next recent communication on direct debits and the govt £400?
Now I don't know whether I can trust E.ON Next to do what they say and increase my DD back to £250.
Or alternatively should I increase the DD to £317 in the expectation that they will then reduce it to £250?0 -
I expect them to put my DD back to £250 from 01/04/2023 - or I would if the unit price wasn't about to change.RG2015 said:

If you want them to actually take £250, I would think you need to put it up as you suggest.2 -
Yes this is pretty silly. I assumed my DD wouldn't go down as I'm already in arrears and would like to continue to clear that each month. And no I'm not concerned about the arrears as our use has dropped dramatically and will continue to reduce throughout the winter compared to last year. But the only acceptable change to them is for me to increase my DD to £272. Which ain't gonna happen!!!

Which ain't gonna happen!!!It does seem odd they are still reducing direct debits when accounts are already in debt to them. Mines the same, although it’s only £212 in debit and my payment on 1st will take £175 off that and usage has just been billed today.I haven’t heard anything from them but then I am on fixed V10 until March but I logged in this morning to see my new bill and saw they’d reduced my direct debit from 1st October to £103.00, so I emailed them at lunchtime asking them to re-instate the direct debit back to £175.00 so I can use the government £400 to pay off the debit and build some credit going forward so when I come off fixed, they hopefully won’t need to whack the direct debit up again!
less than 3 hours and they replied saying they’ve changed it back to £175.00.

They've been told not to automatically use the rebate to pay down debt - only at the request of the customer. (paraphrased)sam1974_2 said:Brie said:Yes this is pretty silly. I only have the two figures, so at least easy to understand.
