Nothing wrong with checking to satisfy yourself 👍Ballymoney said:
Not expecting anything, just said I’ll be checking my account because it’s not 100% clear by their wording 👍[Deleted User] said:So it seems like you're expecting a major supplier under a lot of scrutiny at the moment to what? Just steal £400 per customer and hope nobody notices?1 -
I understand how the £400 credit was agreed by the Govt to be applied, by reducing DD amounts. I’d rather continue to pay the same DD and use the credit to offset additional costs. I think my ask to do this has confused the DD system. I can’t see why else it would show two payments in October, within 5 days of each other, for my original DD amount.0

Indeed. This is the way I would expect to see Eon's systems handling it. A little like a manual card payment transaction to top up the account (let us hope we don't have the 'provisional' transaction fiasco again) being itemised as 'Credit card collection' on your account ledger.Sea_Shell said:You should also see a line on your account of CR £67, in addition to your reduced DD.0 -
Remember that unit rates for both utilities are going up from the April cap levels to the new October EPG levels which is why your nominal DD amount will probably increase although your actual DD (after the £67 reduction) may be lower than you currently pay depending on your usage of course. However your original £200 DD may have been too high which is why they might have re-assessed your DD and worked out that you needed to pay less. (Perhaps you had a large credit on your account?) You may know better than any of us.DeeQS said:Now the portal shows I have.
1st Oct - DD of £200
6th Oct - DD of £135
I’ve sent them an WhatsApp to try and understand how they’re calculating it. Seems overly complex to me.0 -
The best way to do this was (but it wasn't made clear to people) to change your DD to £67 above what it usually would be. I think you might have confused the system a little as you say, by trying to do exactly this after they've already changed it down, but I don't think they will take two DDs in October.DeeQS said:I understand how the £400 credit was agreed by the Govt to be applied, by reducing DD amounts. If you have twitter, E.ON Next are often quite quick to respond in DMs there and can usually explain what's going on.0 -
Normally yes - took them exactly a week to reply yesterday to a Tweet from last Friday. I'll be ringing them if I need to change tariff for when my current runs out (1st October). Probably quicker[Deleted User] said:

It took them 3 minutes to reply to my DM. I would suggest that rather than a tweet.[Deleted User] said:

I suspect that Eon have been banging out DD re-calculations (ignoring the effect of the £400) showing the original amount and the new amount required (ignoring the effect of the October onwards £67 reduction). I've seen someone at the Eon community forums with a similar situation to the OP (emails same dates) albeit with a slight uptick to their nominal DD amount.[Deleted User] said:

Sorry for being obtuse, DM (via Twitter) you mean? If it is then I've been unlucky this last week. Normally I've got replies the same day.Deleted_User said:It took them 3 minutes to reply to my DM. I would suggest that rather than a tweet.0 -
Apart from the regular reminder about meter readings and subsequent bill, I've not heard a dickie bird from Eon.Next. Still no idea what my rates will be from next month or the level of DD.DeeQS said: Anyone else confused by EON Next recent communication on direct debits and the govt £400?
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
