Still waiting to hear from Octopus. I panicked in August and took the fixed deal which now looks very expensive. I am trying to be patient and wait for the email but I hate paying so much. Can I just switch to the SVR because it is not showing on my Octopus account page. To be honest, I am struggling to find what I want even though there is so much info in the various blogs.

This is the current message showing on the Tariff page...

You can call them and ask to change back to the SVT, but queues are likely to be long and I suspect that if you moved in August they are going to sort this out for you anyway as even with the 'discount' your rates are likely to remain above the new SVT.

Silly question: I'm with different suppliers for gas and electricity, paying quarterly for gas and monthly DD for electricity.

Does the cap apply for non-dual fuel customers? All I can find is 'The average unit price for dual fuel customers paying by direct debit will be limited to 34.0p/kWh for electricity, with a daily standing charge of 46.36p, and 10.3p/kWh for gas, with a daily standing charge of 28.49p, inclusive of VAT, from 1 October. '

Yes it does.  Neither price will be the one in your quotation, but similar principle will apply.

I'm with Octopus (10 month fix to February 2023 - Electricity 41.03 kWh and 24 pence per day, Gas 12.4 kWh and 26.10 per day - Southern Scotland) and I'm anxious to hear where I'll stand:  Stay on the present Fixed one or ? will Octopus move me to Variable ? or some other option.

I feel as if I've given up trying to work out for myself what's best, cost wise - a bit like brain block.

Whatever happens I think we are all in for a difficult time with energy costs this winter.

If anyone hears from Octopus regarding the rates from 01 October, please let us know.
    Thank you.

Thanks. I've seen the EDF tariff sheet for 1 Oct onwards, so can work it out from there. However, can't find one for British Gas yet.
