Am I the only one still not told about the unit prices for Gas and Electricity

Just looked at their website and it says that my refund of £152 has not been applied.0

Octopus emailed me yesterday. Their line is Unit rates will be OFGEM rates played about with, Standing Charges will be OFGEM rates played about with - then 4% off. Here it ends up with £ 2,487.94 for Mister Average; £2,538.09 for me. Much closer to the average this time. Not complaining about that.Eastern, btw0

Just got an update from them (recorded). The payment of £152 is still going ahead and they will be reviewing customer accounts and monthly billing will reflect their usage.0

New rates just in from Shell:
Old New
Day 33.11 40.449
Night 18.038 18.862
S/C 43.48 44.5
Gas 7.479 10.457
S/C 27.22 28.48
Time to load the spreadsheet....0 -
Are electric prices different if you don't have a day / night?0
-
Yes. They are different in each region, for single rate or multi rate (day/night etc) and for each payment type - and for each combination of those three concerns.[Deleted User] said:Are electric prices different if you don't have a day / night?0 -
Yes but it was the cocky attitude approach.

But it's only the capped tariff it's not as if they are trying to build a super computer that will provide the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything"pochase said:The April cap was announced in the beginning of February and that gave the energy suppliers almost 2 months to do their calculations.
This was shortened by Ofgem so that in future there are only 35 days between announcement of the cap and the start of the new SVT.
So this time suppliers started to do their calculations after the 26th for almost two weeks, until on 8th of September the new numbers were announced and they had to start again.
As raised before it is not as easy as you make it look, it is not just unit rates and standing charges, but it needs to be done for the different regions and the three to four different payment forms, and for the more complicated E7 tariffs and legacy tariffs like E10.
And the calculations than need to be signed off by Ofgem. I was not aware of this, but it makes sense.
So most of the blame goes to those who changed the rules in the middle of the game.Your life is too short to be unhappy 5 days a week in exchange for 2 days of freedom!0 -

They only just put info on how the £400 payment would work on their site last night (& emailed this morning)I found this article from uswitch that says GEUK is exempt from the price cap. I hope that the story has changed since the articel was written back in May as I signed up with them in July!

It hasn't changed, GEUK have always been exempt from the Ofgem cap and still are.
