Am I the only one still not told about the unit prices for Gas and Electricity

Am I reading OP wrong? Is OP thinking that he will be charged no more than £2.5k however much a household uses?
No OP is not thinking that. OP is saying that if OP uses EXACTLY 2,900 kwh of electricity and EXACTLY 12,000 kwh of GAS, then OP will be charged no more than £2,500. Has OP got it wrong?0 -
Where did OP get his figures from? Directly from the PM live on national television.0

The PM said live on national television "45.34p for electric and 9p for gas"? Really?PaulDesmond said:Where did OP get his figures from? Directly from the PM live on national television.
Someone forgot to tell the rest of the government, OFGEM, or any of the suppliers, because none of them are working with those figures.0 -
2 words to describe many people's reaction to the statement by the PM on 8th September.

Re. the thread title, I've not heard anything from Scottish Power yet. This isn't really a big deal for me though.
I think the following should be pretty accurate for anyone on the new EPG rates.

My provider told me over the phone that my payments would be £207.90. This is = to £2,500 however I am using far less on both gas and electricity than the average.
E: 2,661 not 2,900 and G: 5,297 not 12,000. That is 47% less. Unless they pull their finger out I will be over charged. I will have an estimated £36 in credit after recovering £152 from them over the last year.
P.S. Frustrated as up until now, I have benefited from a fixed tariff which I managed to acquire before the storm.0 -
No, you're not the only one - still no contact from Octopus.

What was the end date of your fix when you agreed to it? You won't be being forced to end a fix early...PaulDesmond said:My provider told me over the phone that my payments would be £207.90. This is = to £2,500 however I am using far less on both gas and electricity than the average.

If you cancel your fixed deal will you pay a penalty? And is the penalty worth the change. I think energy companies should be transparent with their tariffs as they were told to do. The say we don't advise switching but you should have the right to choose. Also, you should not be forced to jump through hoops by getting a comparison. If FreeBear is coming up to the end of a fixed deal, he should be allowed to shop around without running up a phone bill.0

You shouldn't have to pay any exit fees for leaving a fix - I believe that has been confirmed, however, are you absolutely sure that once the EPG reductions have been applied, you won't be better off staying put?
As for "the right to choose" - of course you have the right to make your own decision about switching away - getting a new provider that will accept you onto the SVR might well be another matter entirely though!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
