Am I the only one still not told about the unit prices for Gas and Electricity

  • I'm managing accounts with 2 different suppliers (Scottish Power & Shell) at the moment and I haven't heard from either.
  • E.ON Next have told me this morning that I should get an email "either this week or next week" - which means hopefully before the day after the new rates apply.
  • Still waiting on Octopus, but we're on Tracker so expecting to be among the last (they're contacting customers on the SVT first, then fixes, and Tracker is neither).

I don’t think E.ON Next/Sainsbury’s have told any of there customers yet.
Sainsbury's/E.ON still don't know when they will tell us, when I asked last night.
Had my e-mail fro E,on Next yesterday, daughter has not.
And according to that e-mail I will be getting my £400 paid as £67 per month from October to March !

Had my email from Bulb today. They say prices will be published on their website on 26th Sept.

My prices (South West, dual fuel paid by monthly DD)
                                                       Current price     New price
Electricity Unit rate (p per kWh)  28.408p            33.859p
    Standing charge (p per day)       51.625p            52.643p

Gas Unit rate (p per kWh)            7.476p             10.425p
    Standing charge (p per day)       27.219p             28.484p

As an aside, I'm currently paying £130 per month and am £450 in credit but they are recommending £95 per month based on my usage (with a minimum of £85.56). Seems an odd time to reduce it but it shows they are not just trying to grab my money!

Worth mentioning that new boiler fitted last December (and the fact that the heating system now has a clever thermostat) seems to have drastically reduced gas use, which probably explains why I have been paying slightly more than I should have been so far this year.
  • Okay. As I am going to be new to this variable crap. I am assuming that my provider will allow me to make advanced payments. What comes out of my bank account at the end of the month will be the months usage -/+ my current balance. Under the fixed tariff system it was fixed. If I made advanced payments into the piggy bank, then I could avoid the end of month payment. Any ideas on this : |

Your DD can still be fixed and averaged over the year based on your estimated usage. The DD does not have to be variable (although it can be). I pay the same every month to make budgeting easier. Any over or underpayment will be factored into any "account review" in the future.

Haven't had anything from GEUK re. unit rates etc..
They only just put info on how the £400 payment would work on their site last night (& emailed this morning)
  • Okay StocktonFlyer. They have told me £207 per month. This is based on£2,500 per year. My current usage using the latest figures on this website makes it £1,723 a year = £143 per month. They have not taken their finger out and will charge me this on3rd October. I.E. pay in advance. I need then to have this reduced at a later date, but an advanced online payment  + what is my balance on line would help.
