That is completely wrong. As previously advised, no dates or criteria have yet been announced.

Ah yes, that famously reliable bastion of journalism

It has its uses, but for official information I wouldn't believe it unless it linked to an official (in this case, gov.uk) source.

The government ashen't even announced what the qualifying date is for the second payment is yet, let alone the payment dates. The qualifying date itself could, under the regulations, be as late as 31st October.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

DWP have confirmed to a journalist question that no date has yet been set
A spokesman told LeicestershireLive: "We haven't confirmed when the second payment will be made yet. We’ll be keen to let people know clearly and widely when there is a date to announce."

  • I've looked at several national and local newspaper articles whilst googling.  Nothing consistent except that they are all inconsistent guesses.  Suspect we will be waiting a while if the government hasn't even announced a date.  I wonder if their account is overdrawn lol.
  • Have you noticed how much "click bait" there is. I'm not getting the payment, I am a nurse, but I am checking on behalf of patients/clients. The click-bait really angers me, a lot of articles headlining "Government announce date of second payment", and when you open the article, no such announcement. I'm referring to certain online newspaper companies, not junk emails. But the newspaper even more junk than junk emails!
  • The fake "October 1st payment date" seems to have originated with various online newspapers from the "Reach" group. Known for dubious clickbait headlines.😕

Any "news" sources that has a city name, followed by the word "live", are all at it. Best ignored.

Yes, the Reach group of local newspapers have been running clickbait headlines for years about benefits but have gone into overdrive this year. My local paper is one of them. All they do is quote the source as being another one of the Reach owned local papers. So far this year they've had numerous articles about how certain disabilities can get you PIP, AA, ESA, UC and a whole host of other things. Most of which have been highly inaccurate.
