I'd be annoyed being told a "season" as an answer.
You will get your cost of living payment sometime around when there are lots of crisp brown leaves on the pavements, and the temperature starts dropping.

That's the astronomical winter. The meteorological winter starts 1st Dec. Who knows which one the government will choose!

It's a newspaper, they are not correct. Don't believe everything you read in a newspaper. The payment dates and criteria haven't been annouced yet.
