Thanks for all your support. Unfortunately DSiL is also physically unwell atm and DBiL has some MH problems, so they wouldn't be able to come and visit us - they only go out for hospital appointments and essential shopping. If DH wants to visit them, he will have to go alone.
WMx3 dried on the line todayand a tiny bit more admin has been done.

Iona, I’m with asb et al fwiw
Kaz…how exciting…I would love to go to an auction.Called oncologist team this morning as no scan appointment, needed before chemo, had arrived (obvs couldn’t call yesterday). Left message. They rang at 1:53, discussed scan, thought I might get one Thursday … in Steel City or here. Local hospital rang about 2:20, they’d got a cancellation at 3:10 - would I like it so I accepted. After scan I went to MacMillan Unit to collect my pre meds that were ready for me…confused everybody there with that request but I have got them.
Came home and made fish pie with the YS fish I have been collecting for the purpose. Have now got a fish pie filling ready to freeze. Leftover mash will be added as and when.

Doing the lists but not in order! Yesterday I totally blitzed the bathroom and cleaned the top half of the house, today will be the bottom half of the house.
Currently working through a mountain of washing as I stripped all the beds yesterday, all my throws need doing and I've a load of dust sheets to clean too (the joys of putting a new boiler in 😳😂)
@ionafan - I don't think you're being unreasonable at all, nothing is stopping your DH from visiting on his own so I'd say no too.

Valli if you want to go to an auction local to you, go now, having chatted to the man doing the consignment yesterday, it seems they had a 'fine country and art work auction' over the weekend, he had 4 people in the sale room but 350 online and bidding, he reckons with modern tech etc going to an auction to watch / bid is going in time to be a thing of the past.Kitchen doneVarious cats fed, both houses checked for vermin.Kaz's doggy day care starts today, it seems dog is howling when left during the day where she is
I've never heard her here howl, but there you go. So Kaz's doggy day care is open today 10.30am to about 4pm, when she will be collected, and repeat over the next few days, I can also let in her own home so can see the cats / spend time with smells she is use to as well, I just think she had got herself over stressed, not too sure my cats are going to be happy with a dog in this house, but I'll try and see what happens, if nothing else I'll keep the dog with in in the lounge / kitchen, the cats can have the rest of house and conservatory, shutting various doors.

Iona.. if OH is ok going alone then that is the compromise.such a shame the in-laws are so housebound
I guess it's not much fun and they look forward to your visits.. but your health has to be a priority too and I am certain they will understand that.
Girls deposited.. apparently it is picture day.. I have just discussed with OH that we will have some nice christmas pics done again at th local photographers.. easy christmas presents.. I will pay for DD1 to have some done of her 4 too I think.. she doesn't have any with the 4 on.
I am tired.. Pixie had to be dragged out of bed this morning, thankfully she is easier to move than Dot.Washing to shuffle and a DW to load.OH needs to ring his mother about the wrong thing she bought for Dot for her birthday.. she bought a cover for an outside swinging egg chair.. thinking it was the chair and cover.. for £25... the chair itself is £230 so it isn't like we could just buy that to go with the cover. Oooops...
Mountain Warehouse have posted Dots new coat already.. that was speedy!!! £130 coat massively reduced, who doesn't love a bargain?!.. it was reduced to £49 then 10% off and then 10% cashback.. win! I am hoping it meets her highness's approval. I bought 2 sizes to send one back.. and the same for the other 2 but from somewhere else.
I have 2 parcels to dig out and send so that is next on my list. I need OH to shuffle boxes about for me.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Late in again here, but a few bits have been done.
Off to DD1 this evening although she is working 24 hours shift so won't be there, we're staying there so we can be there for the gas man to come at 8 the following morning to connect in her new flat. Lasagna has been made which will be taken with us and enjoyed with her flat mate.
Iona, I agree with the others, saying NO is a very important thing to be able to do.

Greetings all, back from hols and in chaos as usual!
Have just skim-read so apologies if I miss anything/anyone important. But welcome to newbies; huge well done to millionaire step-master Kaz and hugs to all in need.
It was a good holiday although rather tiring, visiting a lot of friends and family; this also meant luggage in lots of small bags as sometimes we were apart, sometimes together and sometimes with limited capacity to carry, so it is all taking a while to sort out. Also odd to be away from home at such a momentous national occasion. We came home on Sun eve, had planned to go up to London to absorb some of the atmosphere but were too tired and didn't fancy wrestling with the crowds.
On the plus side of hols, I managed to get in a few swims so have now done 10 of my 15km, with 9 days left to finish, which is doable but my shoulders aren't thanking me. Also seem to have lost 2lb which is good news.
Today I have:
- put away various debris/holiday unpackings in the kitchen, washed up, wiped surfaces.
- filled bird feeders.
- input gas and electric readings. We haven't used any gas this month, but lec a bit higher than the last couple of months, probably as I'm making the effort to use the micro/combi oven rather than the gas range.
- wash bags emptied of holiday gibble and put away.
- emailed local retired IT man to see if he can recommend anyone; Mr N's ancient computer (he always has my cast-offs) is painfully slow now and has never been on internet since he inherited it. My less old one is slowing. Plan is for me to get a new one and strip down mine for Mr N, it should run better without the uni software and security stuff on it. So I have spent a lot of time (and need much more) culling emails. Yes, I often do that, but they grow......and I'm trying to be less sentimental and more ruthless so I will have very few left. Then I need to list all my software so either I or hopefully someone more confident/experienced can make sure everything gets transferred. Wish me luck!
- rang uni as I'd said that I could do the first assessment of the term tomorrow but hadn't yet received any paperwork. They aren't yet organised; change of management apparently, so won't need me till next week. Can't say I'm sorry.
For the rest of the day, as well as continuing with the PC stuff, I want to empty the remaining holiday bags and put away washing.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Been out for lunch with the aged ps and my cousin and her hubby up from Essex. Lovely to see them. They have gone home with jam *fling*

Doggy day care done, dog was as good as gold
no signs of stress or howling, so dog has been on a 11,00 step walk!
wanted to chase the seagulls, but had dog on lead as there is avain flu around here, inc some sea birds.
My winter north face waistcoat jacket, that I could wear but not do up, now wears and does up with room inside it as well!!!!My cats fed, now washing, then they will sleep............for about 4 hours. To doFed other catsChop wood, I feel a fire tonight, just read on internet snow is forcast for the north.............Narc0 well done on the swimming.Oddly I feel like a hugh weight has been lifted off my shoulder by sending stuff to the auction house, I just hope not too much comes back, they have just informed me of a new rule, they use to re entry stuff 3 times if it didn't sell, now they only enter it the once, if it doesn't sell then you have until the Friday of that week to collect, or they skip it, (I did see 2 hugh skips out the back)Pigpen glad the coats seem to be on their way quickly.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
