Using convectors on E7 or E10 just makes no sense, it's better to adjust the input and output on the NSH's if heat is not being retained into the evening.
I will try this but I seem to lose heat from the bigger bedroom with balcony and that is furthest from the NSH. The flat has always had wall mounted convectors in the bedrooms and there is a NSH in hallway but I think having both NSHs on this year will cost too much.
Bwedroom convectors are quite normal; the architect's expectation is that you'll only need heat for 30 minutes in the morning (when you get up) and 30 minutes at night (when you go to bed) and you'll spend the rest of the day in the living area.
If your lifestyle doesn't suit this, and you find yourself occupying the bedrooms during the day, you might need to fit NSHs in the bedrooms too.
Yes this was ok last winter (my first winter here). At times I got fed up of cold bedroom but a good duvet improved this. I was waking up due to cold at first. This year I might move my desk to the living room as I work from home 3-4 days a week. It’s cosy in living room but the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms get a bit too cold especially if I don’t use the second NSH! But it’s excessive having 2 on for 7 hours, given the new prices!😕. I do miss GCH for that reason i.e. mainly only one room is comfortable to stay in but we are spoilt by GCH.
