Car accident in car park at home.
Bought another new car after I scrapped the one I bought a few weeks ago (only a cheap little Fiat). Drove it home yesterday and got home and attempted to go into the car park. Unfortunately I didn't anticipate and forgot how wide the gates open to go into the car park, and panicked as I didn't want the gates to hit my new car, so all of a sudden reversed but without looking or thinking, accidentally backed into a neighbours car who was also attempting to get into the car park. Again I panicked, so I drove into the car park, went right round with the neighbour right behind me, then back out again and must have drove at about 60mph to try and get away from the neighbour who was chasing me. I finally stopped about 10 miles from home, utterly exhausted, and abandoned my car and got the bus home. In a way I'm lucky as there's a lot of flats so don't think the neighbour knows where I live, but terrified she'll see me again. I daren't even bring my car home, which is currently stored at my mums, in case the neighbour sees it. Also worried I'll get penalty points for speeding. Any advice please?

Phone your insurance company and tell them you had an accident. And hope it doesn't get reported as a hit and run. Why were you trying to run away from your neighbour?
Are you trying to avoid paying for any damage caused?1 -

You need to politely contact the neighbour, apologise and provide them with your insurance details.DanS1 said:Bought another new car after I scrapped the one I bought a few weeks ago (only a cheap little Fiat). You might as well collect the Fiat from wherever it is 10 miles away and bring it home.
You need to notify your insurer.
What happened to the Yaris with black box insurance that you had nowhere to park at home? Was the car park only just built?2 -
If you’d stopped, apologised and exchanged details your neighbour wouldn’t have needed to be chasing you. And stashing the car somewhere else certainly makes it look as if you are trying to avoid your liabilities.Report it to your insurer. Track your neighbour down and give them your insurance details. Take it from there.
Looking at your previous threads, you and cars don’t seem to be getting on particularly well. Perhaps you should just stick to public transport. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Yeah so you bought a Yaris £4k now you say it was a Fiat.
You said you couldn't park near your house which was one reason for selling it, now you seem to have a car park at home.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, I took the Yaris in for scrap last weekend and got £450 for it, which I put towards a cheap Fiat.
The car park I've only just got a permit for. I only moved here 6 weeks ago.-1 -
You realise the neighbour had plenty of time to take down your reg.
Likely the police will come knocking and arrest you for fleeing the scene of an accident.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.2 -
Why did you scrap the Yaris?
You had only broken the wing mirror cap.
£450 for scrap is quite good, but lost a lot from £4k in only a few weeks.
You must have a lot of money to suffer that type of depreciation.2
