By the way, this isn't new. PAYG night rates have been cheaper than DD night rates in many regions since April at least and I haven't checked before that.

I've found a copy of EDF's April 2021 deemed rate card and the smart PAYG E7 night rate was cheaper than DD then, too, in all regions except two - East Midlands and South East.mmmmikey said:By the way, this isn't new. It is incorrect - latest update from Sainsbury's Energy - '*The prices shown here don’t yet include the government’s Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) unit rate reduction – we’re working on getting these changed as fast as we can. But don’t worry, you won’t be charged these prices - you’ll get the reduced EPG prices on your bill.' Phew!Deleted_User said:
That looks like a mistake. That would make the "typical usage" cost over £2200 at the OFGEM split - for the EdF tariff it is about £1440 (likely similar for BG given mmmmikey's report). If the Sainsbury's prices are right, that means EdF (and BG) are charging far under the cap level which I can't see them doing.enomis said:
Yes, and updated within the late 48hr.Deleted_User said:
I can't see that being under whatever new cap has been agreed for E7. Is that the standard variable?enomis said:I hope switching comes back, Sainsbury's for the Eastern region are quoting me;

No, they're all wrong. They're not right today and they're not right tomorrow either.caz6caz6 said:Can anyone tell me if these electricity rates look right for EON economy 7 variable?

As in they've not changed the rates they are displaying. They won't be charging you these ones.caz6caz6 said:0 -
