Yes, a bigger increase is widely viewed as disrespectful to mournersSg28 said:I also read Speculation that a bigger increase is planned and they didn't want this to be announced so close to the queens death. Hence the postponement. But thats probably nonsense.
Or if they hike too sharpishly, then we'll have lots more mourners.I reckon plus 75bp.

Trying to figure out if we will see a 4% fixed rate savings deal this year.0

I read a few days ago 0.75% was the most likely. But cant remember where I read itaroominyork said:What does the market think? What rise is already built into the price of short/medium dated gilts?Ex Sg27 (long forgotten log in details)Massive thank you to those on the long since defunct Matched Betting board.0 -
It was predicted to be 0.50% but i would expect it to be 0.75%. One week less between meeting dates so more likely they would do more next week and not do anything else until November0

Always one spoilsport.
Play the game. They're still deciding the prize. May be a good un.0 -
Probably, but maybe only on a 4 or 5 year fix. We’re close to 4% already on some of them.Krakkkers said:Trying to figure out if we will see a 4% fixed rate savings deal this year.0 -
Be sensible, that's clearly pi in the sky...MisterMotivated said:I estimate they'll round it up to 3.14%12 -
Santander currently has a 1-year ISA 3%, 2 years 3.25%. Assuming the PSA has been used up, that's equivalent to 3.75% / 4.06% for BR tax payers, 5% / 5.4% for HR ones. Obviously limited to £20k if it's new money. Still miles from inflation......t1redmonkey said:

Bailey and team are useless, I doubt they would ever do anything more than 50bp.
