Also why would your bills be more than other peoples just because you're alone in a 1 bed flat?
These bill management companies usually target students and HMO properties so the logic is only one person, so nobody to split the cost with, so higher 'bil'...
Not higher cost in total, just all paid by one person...
Still generally a bad idea to use this sort of service, unless managing the bills is a bit more of a challenge and the security of having one point of contact is worth paying more for...
They also off 'all you can eat' tariffs which can appear to be appealing, but do not always work out well...

    It's One Utility Bill.
My energy bill is based on meter readings for the entire month.

So the £70 was for August? .. were you in the property for the whole month?

Your energy use in August is going to be a lot lower than your use each month over the winter, so if you have a fixed contract to pay them the same amount each month then you will be paying them more than the bills they are paying out at this time of year, but over winter you'd be paying them less than it was costing them in the coldest months.
That still doesn't men this is a good deal though.
Do you have a fixed price contract for a period of time, or is it variable?
Do you have to pay them more if you use more energy or is that 'unlimited' ?
I believe they use Octopus as their energy supplier so if you do decide to cancel the contract you are at least already with a decent supplier.
If you do decide to cancel make sure you understand any cancellation penalties that may apply...

I don’t understand why the OP thinks he has been ripped off. If the bill is fixed then yes his power bills will be lower in August but he will likely gain in the winter.  He has agreed to pay a fixed fee to smooth out ups and downs

Not something I would do to be honest but it was his choice.

Even if this bill doubles in the winter it will only be £140. Then with the 80% increase, approx £250. So yes, a rip off.

Why? Are you paying a company more than what you otherwise would?

@DanS1      How much will the broadband, TV license and water parts of this combined bill be?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
