Haven’t got time to wade through all that in link at present but looks like a discount will apply if you took out a contract after April 2022, is that correct?
If you're a business, with a business energy contract for mains electricity or gas, yes.
If you're a household with oil or LPG (or one of the solid fuels) you might get £100.

  • Rees-Mogg (BEIS) has been answering an Urgent Question in Parliament this morning on his business & off-grid press announcements yesterday.

There were many questions from MPs about off-grid heating, especially heating oil. There was no new information. JRM outlined that the govt has looked at 'comparables' because heating oil, LPG and on-grid gas prices have not increased equally. There was a veiled hint that they are still looking at the subsidy levels for off-grid fuels.

Thank you for the update, and for your previous updates - much appreciated. Do you have a link to the session, either video or a transcript?

    Here is the Hansard transcript:

I'm sure it will be on parliament.tv too. Roughly 1000-1050 today in the House of Commons

  • The Chancellor has stated that the support for off-grid heating fuels is under review by BEIS during questions following his mini-budget statement this morning. (for example question from Ben Lake, MP for Ceredigion). Maybe the £100 grant is not the end of the story.

I would imagine it would need to remain continually under review for the two year energy price cap period to ensure that "equivalent support" remains in place and fully accounts for any fuel price variations over the next two years. Gas customers are capped at a constant figure - that is clearly not the case for other uncapped fuels on the open market.
