No such thing as a registered owner, in fact on the front of the V5C it states that having a V5C is NOT proof of ownership, AND you cannot be a bit unique! You either are unique or you are not!Khxleda said:
Thing is I was not the registered owner of the vehicle when the fine was issued in fact the date was a whole year later than when i was the owner of the car.
Hi, thank you for replying I was not able to finish my post since i didn't know how to edit it, it is my first time here, i have read a few posts regarding Gladstone's but i feel mine may be a bit unique.4 -
what are you talking about? DVLA has confirmed and i have a letter stating i was not the owner of the vehicle before the fine was issued what has the v5c got to do with itLe_Kirk said:

The V5 ('log book') clearly says that the named person is not the owner of the vehicle, but the keeper. As an example, there are many leased vehicles around these days, and whilst you might be named on the V5, you never 'own' it, merely 'keep' and use it.
I suspect your letter from DVLA will be worded in similar termsThe pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.4 -
@Khxleda, you are mistaken.
The DVLA has no record of any owner of any vehicle.
All it has is name and address of the Registered Keeper of the vehicle.
Now, you may well have a letter from the DVLA stating you weren't the Registered Keeper of the vehicle, but it simply cannot state who was or who was not the owner at any time.3 -
i think all this is irrelavent bcuz i was nor the keeper or the owner of the vehicle during when the fine was issued it was sold off and details were changed a whole year earlier before the fineKeithP said:@Khxleda, you are mistaken.

Yes, I too think it is not relevant, but when you write, either to Gladstones or EPS, then it would be best if you were to be using the term Registered Keeper rather than owner.Khxleda said:

Sorry, but I disagree. Whilst many of us seem to agree that you have a good defence, if it is ever needed, you are in an arena now where both accuracy and understanding the facts and nuances are vital. IF this goes to court, you need to be on your toes and accurate.Khxleda said:
