Neo Energy and Octopus

Subsequent to my post of 10th I have now received another reminder from Neo. I’d previously called my bank to see if my old direct debits were going out to the account noted on the latest invoices but sadly the bank couldn’t confirm they were; it seems that being DDs my bank simply accepted and settled demands from Neo Energy.
I have now found on an old Neo invoice of April 2022 their bank details which are the same as those on the most recent one. In the circumstances I’m inclined to believe their invoice is in fact genuine - the bank details tie up, the invoice is based upon my meter readings etc. I’d just have to put down my concerns over the grammatical issues referred to previously as the company’s ‘sloppy’ work ethics.Would anyone agree I should accept it is correct and settle, albeit hang on a while? What is the likely upshot if I delay payment much further?0 -
I hope you cancelled the Direct Debit from your end, although I guess there's quite a lot of protection even if you haven't. I don't think anyone can really comment on whether your bill is or isn't correct, but if it is then at some point you will probably end up having to pay.0

Hi,
Ofgem say to ask Octopus.Octopus say not to pay.Neo website says they won’t use credit reference or debt collection agencies (although they have threatened to).Neo accounts phone number doesn’t work.Neo and UKEIH directors are refusing to cooperate with the administrators of UKEIH.
I’m still advising my parents not to pay.I’ll come back here if we hear any more from them after our last email which says the above.0 -
Another week passes and another email from Neo reminding me I’ve not paid. May let it run on a little longer and then pay, unless any advice to the contrary shows up here0

I’m in the same position, received notice from Neo last week. At one point they’d transposed the electric and gas costs, which had subsequently been corrected but I’d then double-checked payments made and found slight discrepancy which has now been corrected. As far as I can now determine the final bill is correct and I’m intending to settle. However I will try and ensure the Neo bank account I’m being asked to pay is correct, which was one of my concerns when I got the initial bill way back.

Bank details and company registration number (12015844) have always been exactly the same on every bit of correspondence I've received from Neo. Right from the start, through normal regular bills, the ludicrously incorrect "final bills", and eventually on the final, correct, final bill.
If you see anything different I'd be concerned. Any reason for me not to post the bank details here?
In the event I paid the final bill by debit card as Neo had previously not matched bank transfer payments to my account, whereas card payments were automated through their billing provider.0 -

Will go ahead and pay the £182, which is obviously far less than the £2500+ they were after at the outset0 -
I have today received a 'final' bill from Neo. They are attempting to charge me for electricity from April to October 2021....which is a bit rich since I British Gas was my electricity supplier during that period - which is pretty indisputable since I had to raise a case with the Ombudsman re BG, which was resolved and all setttled, and the Ombudsman has confirmed to me today that BG was the supplier at that time not Neo.
The Ombudsman was pretty useless about Neo though, saying it was in administration....but agreeing that they have no record of the identity of the administrators.
Toying with the idea of a County Court money claim against Neo (given that they are still trading). Might prove interesting0
