Crazy how variable things are, on another forum many have daily usage at about 20 kWh a day and they consider my usage tiny, but then my usage seems high compared to those posting 3 kWh a day.
My daily average is 6-7 kWh a day.3 -

Haha, that's exactly how I feel. Friends I have asked are using about 20-25kWh so I don't feel too bad. I got it down to 5.6kWh yesterday.

My daily average is 6-7 kWh a day.In normal times, our winter use is around 53kWh per day. In summer it was 18kWh per day. Currently, thanks to learning about device use and making some adjustments, it is down to 7-8kWh a day. I just need to decide when and how we use a 270kWh per week device over winter.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I'm thinking of getting some grow lights for my ever expending house plant collection and calculated that it would cost me only £24 to run them for the 5 months that the sun is not sufficient. Thinking of getting 2 x 24w LED grow lights.
Cheaper hobby than reptiles for sure.1 -
i dont think you can make direct comparisons like that. our highest day this week was 3.97 and lowest 2.11 (total use 22.18) but in the same week we spent a small fortune on paints for my daughter and bought £160 of logs to top up the log store. someone else might have spent that money on power running a gaming pc or baking. as long as your balance works for you in your life then that's all that matters.Chrysalis said:Crazy how variable things are, on another forum many have daily usage at about 20 kWh a day and they consider my usage tiny, but then my usage seems high compared to those posting 3 kWh a day.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.2 -

The difference is that most normal non-MSE people aren't obsessed about saving money like we are and 20 kWh was pretty common. I know because I was one of them. Once I started to take notice a month ago it went from an average of 20 down to about 8-10 without impacting our daily lives.
I could go lower but that would mean much bigger changes that would we'd find reduces our comfort. We're pretty happy with where we are now1
