We you living in the same place last winter?  How much gas did you use over the winter?

................ and between 16-23 units of electric. ..............
Wow --- you should be able to cut that to 6-8 -   it's time for some serious detective work.  Go through the property room by room, the loft, the shed, the garage - ignore for now the phone chargers -  you are looking for the things others have described.

What hours is the heating on, and at what temp, in winter? Is the house occupied in the day?
A bungalow has relatively high heat loss, as the floor and roof area is larger than it would be in a conventional 4 b/r house.
Post your annual kWh usage on electricity as well

    I meant not cooking
To give you an idea we ONLY cook on gas and use in the region of 270kWh per year. It really has a tiny impact on overall use.

Up to 80% of your energy usage is CH and DHW.

Hi, thank you for posting your gas cooking amount - I have been trying to work out if I could save more using other methods but all seemed to use electricity and be compared to electricity. When you say cook does that include using the small top oven as well? I use the hob and top small gas oven to feed two of us sharing some components of the meal items but as gluten free (which can be expensive - flour etc) and vegetarian we do differ. I have stopped doing baked potatoes and anything that takes a long time though do miss them but if your kWh includes how I use my gas cooker I may do them as a special treat. Next months fuel increase will be a struggle and January I don‘t know but am trying to be frugal to allow for some winter warmth so I do not get into debt, my biggest fear.

You will save far more by turning your CH 'stat down 1C than trying to economise on cooking. Gas is about 350% cheaper than electricity, for any purpose.

Thank you, i do appreciate your response. My heating is at 15 degrees and only put on in winter if below that and not at night, though this winter will probably be a lot different. This is why I am trying to be frugal everywhere else. This summer we are using a total (gas and electric) of 3kWh a day - looking at electricity being £1.00 kWh in January as been said on here and Gas not much less plus standing charges I am trying hard to not to get into debt but let my child not get ill or very sad.

If it's already at 15C then please ignore my suggestion!
Remember that you have at least £550 coming in electricity and CT rebates, and possibly more if you are on benefits.
Keep yourself warm: if you do get into some debt then there will be millions in the same situation: you are not going to be disconnected.

If electricity does hit £1 a kwh surely solar panels are a must, if you can afford them and if you can get a quote.
