Morning all.
I'm not good with words, can't say what I want to, but if I didn't value this board I wouldn't be here every day!
Anyway, two loads of washing done including DD's bedding. I've hung the bedding out but put the rest straight on the radiators. It's not frosty today but damp and cold.
Vacuumed through downstairs. I was hoping not to have to do it today but the cats had a wrestling match and there was fur everywhere.
Waiting for Asda delivery now. Hope it's better than the last one which had loads of stuff missing and I had to have three deliveries in the end before I finally gave up on the last couple of things. I really really don't want to have to go to a supermarket.0 -
Pigpen - that would be a nice bonus if it's true
Lil-me - hope the ear gets better v. soon
Poohbear - hope you and yours mend v. quickly.
Well, I've washed down the bathroom walls and have decided to paint them so I'm just off to buy some paint.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

This morning I have:
Got up
Had breakfast
Sat at the computer, either laughing or crying depending which post I've been reading.
And now I shall have coffee. Very productive morning so far.:D
Plan for today is to sort out the living room again, so that we can put up the tree. Make some cranberry sauce, and maybe mince pies, although that is probably a bit optimistic as I'm really sleepy. The children's rooms will be delegated, although I shall have to check above eye level, as there ae festoons of cobwebs, I don't think they look up!
Taxi service for DD this afternoon, she has arranged for a friend to have a mini makeover for a Christmas present, so I have to take them in to town. I am fighting a bad spending urge, which I tend to succumb to this time of year. Apart from the fresh stuff, I have done all the shopping, so have no excuse at all to be loitering in Boots. Aaarghh - they sent me an email about their online sale, someone please freeze my debit card until the end of January!
On Christmas spending etc, OH doesn't usually do any of the shopping, but we have a 'present' account, a regular saving one, and a DD goes in every month, which means that the money is there for Christmas, unless I raid it during the year! I need to add a bit more each month, as I haven't altered it for years, and I spend more now. The other thing I do, is at the beginning of the year, I go through the diary and assign the tax credits and child benefit payments to a month. As they are paid four weekly, there are 13 payments a year, and that means I have a spare month's money at the end of the year, as long as I'm careful. Sounds mad, but it works!
Most of my money goes on the children and house and things like holidays ( I usually pay for the accommodation, OH for the ferry, petrol and food). OH pays the mortgage, bills, food. I guess that we'll have to make changes when and if I get a proper job.
Yesterday's visit to see Mum for her birthday was a bit chaotic, as I left the children in the restaurant on the 4th floor, and had to keep rushing up to swap them over! Only 2 visitors at a time. She was very pleased to see them, and I was very proud of how they coped, as although they were in tears after, they were cheerful and upbeat when they were with her.
Now I can't remember all the things I wanted to say to people...
dustykitten - you had some great suggestions from others, and there's not very much I can add! Being aware that you do this is the first step to be able to control it. I find actually booking a bit of free time, in the diary if necessary helps me, as does changing activity - doing something active outside for a bit for example.I also break down lists into smaller bits - eg, wrap three presents rather than all of them.
lil_me I do hope you feel better soon. Have you seen the GP? And thank you for the message at the end of the first post.
rach - I noticed a little bit about a friend who had a rather traumatic time with the birth of her baby. Some hospitals offer time with a midwife to talk about what happened. She may also find that The National Childbirth Trust can offer support and information, they are online, and also have helplines for new parents, as well as local groups and support of different kinds. Without them DD would never had had the chance to exist!
poohbear - I hope that your son recovers rapidly, and all the rest of the poorly ones. Buy yourself a treat, you've earned it.You'll certainly remember this Christmas! I've had so many awful ones - chickenpox, all 3 one after the other, really badly(95), flu (99-2000, OH too ill to go to the big party), the tummy bug one (no, I really don't want to remember that one) and so on... I now have very low expectations of Christmas!!
Far too long a post, sorry. Off for coffee, and to see if I can find a pattern online that I saw in a knitting magazine. Bergere de France, probably way too dear!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

Shopping delivered. Quite a few substitutes but all sensible ones, nothing to send back and nothing missing. What a relief
My freezer door looks ready to burst off but I've crammed it all in. The fridge is OK at the moment but I've got the turkey to get in later today. Hope it squishes!
Whatever I've forgotten we'll have to manage without. We won't starve, I've got loads of potatoes, bread and baked beans0 -
