I've still got tons to do before 25th - more than I did last week as some kind person saw fit to break into the house by smashing through the front door while we were away on holiday last week. I'm trying to look on the bright side - not much was taken and our lovely friends had done a lot of the clearing up before we got home but it's just the hassle of getting a new door, new alarm, replacemant pressies etc that's the pain. So I'm stuck in the house waiting for the insurance people to ring back because I don't like to leave a boarded up front door at this time of year in particular.

    List for today:-
Manic Monday- Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
Clear and wipe those surfaces, make sure you move things this week and clean under them
Check you have enough crockery/cutlery that you aren't embarrassed to use for the Christmas dinner!
    Level Two

    Clean floors
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, wipe any spills
Wipe dining table (clean cloth if needed)
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe & replace small appliances, kettle, toaster etc
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances.
Clean washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker hood (if washable) and dishwasher filters

    Plus
Speak again insurance people - ring them back if haven't heard from them by 2pm
Christmas wrapping - either til its done or until my back screams
    Write Christmas cards to post
    Post Christmas cards
Make a list of which presents still need to be brought (or re-brought)
    WM

That should be enough to keep me busy

good idea, i am actually away for christmas at OH's parents, but it's still similar!

have phoned my gran for a long chat and left a message for my mum - we're all a bit weepy today as 10 years since my wonderful grandad died. have got a 'pamper' morning this morning, going to have leg & bikini wax, head massage, eyebrow tidy and eyelash tint... :) then i'll have to come back and do some sorting. better get in the shower though as need to leave in 30 mins. i always leave it til the last minute!!

    Morning all

Wanted to try out posting a picture here (I read how on the end of last week's thread) :
    ChristmasTree.jpg

    We'll see!

One load of washing out. Blowing round like mad but it's bitterly cold out there.

Kitchen/diner done and living room dusted and vacuumed. Takes twice as long to dust with the Christmas bits out but looks nice.

I feel like a fraud, I'm not really busy up to Christmas. That's because my children are all grown up and we don't have many other relatives and we don't see them anyway. I'm working up to Christmas Eve anyway. DS comes home Sunday night for a few days so we've got to empty all the Christmas stuff out of the spare room.

    Great tree Polly :)

Just having a mini rant about the tax man. Just got a letter telling me to instruct the bank to deduct tax off of W's interest because he is a pensioner (at the age of 3!!!!) Rang them and said I won't be doing this as his pension and interest are nowhere near the personal allowance. 'Well because he is getting a pension we have to send the letter' to which I replied 'what a waste of time and money, you know how much he is getting and I refuse to have the interest paid net so I can claim it back next year and W lose more interest while you hold onto it':mad:

Sorry had to get that off my chest, it just makes me so angry.

    :coffee: anyone?

LG - sorry to here your bad news there are some vile people about and lots of them work at the tax office

DS3 seems a bit better - stopped coughing - he feels cold now to the touch - batteries gone on thermometer so not sure, can't be bothered to take him in now so he can stay here. We have been doing Hama bead things - he has never done this and quite enjoyed it.

Right need to update my list and look at the old thread as it was me who asked how to post photos.

I use photobucket, then copy the line starting http (deleting the http that's already in the box) and then paste it in. Took me a couple of goes (thank goodness for "edit").
