I have no idea what to cook at anytime other then Christmas lunch
I have not done a food shop
I have presents to wrap
I have cards to write.
When I get stressed it sets my IBS off and then I start to worry that I have cancer and that this is my last Christmas.....does that give you a starting point?
Then take a deep breath, have a strong cup of tea and focus.
I'm sure the kids will enjoy Christmas
At least you have Christmas lunch sorted. Boxing day can be cold cuts and pickles and salad etc.
What would you normally do on a Monday, Thursday or Friday? Shops will be open again boxing day anyway if there's something you've forgotten food wise.
It's probably better you HAVEN'T done a food shop just yet - the perishables probably wouldn't keep.
Presents don't need wrapping until Christmas Eve.
Concentrate on the cards for this evening - they should get in the post.

Go clean that bathroom, the loo is yellow! disgusting mare!0 -
Tia - Tescos were booked up weeks ago round here, I have been doing something for a promotion at work and have really struggled to get slots booked for the three addresses we use. Got enough clubcard points extra for free tickets for Drayton Manor Park for Toad's birthday though, so hurrah for work. Can you be supreme ruler of the world with a yellow toilet?
Right, for anyone remotely concerned, George Don't Do That re-apeared, on the kitchen table carefully licking clean the blade on my new meat slicing machine, luckily after I had done all the meat.
Upstairs done apart from our bedroom - looks lovely so really pleased with myself. Some of LR done, and both halls. Worst rooms to do though - kitchen and DR. Time for a beer and a sandwich....'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Hi Dusty
Its know its easy to say dont worry - but dont. Does it matter that you dont have things finished. I have loads I havent done. My house is still a tip (ok but I've nearly finished the front room and put the old tree up in there - and it looks like !!!!!! and I now remember why I bought a new one last yearbut its staying up now) I have only wrapped 2 presents which I delivered yesterday (usually I finish around 3am xmas night). The kids wont care so long as they get up and have presents and I'm sure they will love everything they get. I havent meal planned for this week let alone next so dont know whats for tea tonight - oops should be getting it now. Cards - well if you are hand delivering them you still have time, if not I think you've missed the boat so dont worry - just tell people you made a donation to charity instead (and of course do it). And try peppermint oil capsules for IBS they are slow releasing and do work or find a relaxation method that works for you, and remember it's IBS not cancer.

Thanks guys.
Cards - are all hand delivery ones - I have done the posting ones and they went last week
Presents - it is my kids I haven't finished. Popping out when OH gets back.
Food I never know what to cook everyday so guess it is no different.
New Years resolution will be to learn not to worry - maybe I'll go back to pilates and learn some NLPThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
See less stress already - now if you want stress I'll lend you my dear daughter for a week
plus the dog who DD took for a walk through mud and she's just come and jumped on the cleaned sofa with muddy paws

Can you be supreme ruler of the world with a yellow toilet?
.
hell yes! As Supreme ruler of the wurld, I can do anything! I declare all toilets should now be yellow to hide urine splashes the wurld over! The boys will be happy!
Dusty, get some mediation training. It's better for you than relaxation training and keeps you calmer during the day. Plus, when you say 'I'm Meditating' folk leave you alone but when you say 'I'm Relaxing' folk ignore you and demand stuff anyway.
Bathroom done. Going to dope DS1 up and get them to bed asap and then quickly tidy downstairs and finish the ironing (laugh) before hubby comes home. Plus, if they are up any longer I am going to throttle them.0 -
DS1 is so bossy! I swear he is worse than a girl!
"Oh Mummy, you are supposed to light my candle, how many times have I told you?"
"Mummy, did you turn the tv off? Did I ask you to turn the tv off?"
oh, and just worked out how to view everyones avatars!0 -
DS3 reading done - he is doing really well at the moment, funny how it just clicks.
Going to tidy up from dinner so that I am ready to go out the door when OH comes through it. Just planning on popping into Debenhams and M&S and maybe waitrose if I have time. That should sort out a couple more presents. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

There, see? Focus and things are sooo much better.
I'm in a bit of a quandary with my Christmas Lunch now. A friend of DS just popped in to see him and I asked what he was doing for Christmas Lunch. Seems his Mum (there's only them two) has been invited to France for Christmas Lunch but was feeling guilty about going as said DS friend would be on his own. So, I've invited him to ours. He'll let me know by the end of the weekend.
If he DOES come, then I can justify cooking turkey as well as beef (settled on beef because I would have been the only one originally eating turkey). I could get a crown. DSFriend loves my roast turkey (he's had Xmas lunch with us before). I hope he lets me know before all the turkey crowns have gone from the shops!
Anyway all my extra chores for the day are done, just need to sort out dinner. It'll be a rice concoction with the remains of the guinea fowl I cooked last night. So, now my mouth has finally unfrozen and I can be assured of being able to drink something without dribbling it all down my chin, I've just poured myself a nice G&T.
Bottoms up everyone!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
