Happy birthday Round, congratulations on the shower Valli and thank you for the offer of hollyhock seeds Kaz but we don't have anywhere suitable to grow them, darn it. Have a wonderful break Fayolle, you more than deserve it.Very little achieved today but at least I've reached the end of the post-surgery daily scrub so that's a relief.Better is good enough.9

Yay Valli great news. And Happy Birthday Round, ooh lemon drizzle ..
Would it have been really bad to give apologies for a meeting this morning and go to the hairdressers instead? Well my line manager knew and was fine about it, so that's what I did. Busy day at the paid stuff after that, tired now.
Very little flying done other than the basics. I will try to catch up a bit tomorrow. House is OKish.9 -
Evening all
Happy birthday Round I hope you’ve had a fab day xx
Kaz can they be sown now? If so I will please xx
Mumtoomany, great news for the baby. I’ll happily send my 10&8 year old over for a few days if you feel the need for extra children in the house!
The last 24 hours have not gone as planned, but we’re all okay-ish now. I achieved what I needed to today, and was actually feeling really quite confident and positive (which is how I was all the time before this dratted mental health battle started). Then I had a massive wobble, triggered by nothing, about money and fell apart a bit. I don’t know where it came from, and we’re okay ATM, but it came and had to be banished with anti wobble meds. I think I’m forward worrying a bit, because we have some sheep coming soon, and although we have plenty grass now, we will have to get some feed in over winter and it’s a crippling cost. Life of a hobbyist smallholder I suppose, I could not get the sheep I know but we want to get our ewes in time for tupping 😊I’m in bed now with my book, we are building a new log store tomorrow with scrap wood, so I need to be outside all day and in the right frame of mind to construct something!
Right I’m wittering on now, lots of love to you all xx9 -
Gosh it's been busy the last couple of days so apologies if I forget any hugs/spoons.
Round happy birthday.
Valli good shower vibes, must feel great.
Mr Ionafan sorry about the chesty germs, hope antibacs work fast.
Mr N had a promising ultrasound on his hands i.e. the radiographer said the inflammation and joint effects were "significant" so hopefully that is the required final tick in the box for different meds, appt with the specialist in 3 weeks.
Did rather a surprise circuit training class yesterday, billed as body pump and boy do I ache today. Maybe exacerbated/helped by body balance immediately after then swimming in the evening. And a run this morning. Determined to add a decent step count every day in Sept to my swimming challenge. Today was technically the start of my sponsored swim but I logged last night's as my first km (1.2km to be precise) as it was only a few hours short of September and that particular lake isn't open on a Thursday. I did a 'absolutely no obligation but I'm doing a sponsored swim' email to the 4 ladies I do zumba/swimming with and they have all sponsored me, bless them.
Yesterday:
- watched a webinar, need to log it on professional site.
- watched ex SIL's funeral on line. So she's another one mentioned on my sponsor page as having passed with dementia.
- booked a 3 day break for Mum and I in October, complete with cashback.
- minimum tidying as we had flown the day before in all "public places" in case friends came round for coffee after a meal out (they didn't, but at least lounge/dining room/hall/conservatory/spare bathroom are clean and tidy).
- general gardening stuff.
Today:
- washed up etc
- posted Mum's birthday card
- 1 load through washing machine
- read solar meter; a good quarter with all the hot weather.
- went into utilities account to lower the monthly payment as they had over-stated; their suggested monthly cost is now what it was before all the increase in tariff so not complaining about that at all.
- did a mega blitz in the en suite, starting with the shower which I cleaned while I was in there after my run. Even swept and mopped the floor. Washed bathroom mats. Towel rail and mirrors shiny.
- filled 7 bird feeders.
- Mr N and I investigated the floor behind a filing rack under my printer as I'd heard rodent-type noises. Evidence hoovered up. Sadly we decided the snaptrap was the only solution as we found a hole in the skirting, about a metre from where we filled a different hole in the skirting last year.
- caught up on most flagged 'to do' emails
- about to do a bit of a report.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
