Hello all.
ASB people sell their eggs round here for £1 for six. A curtain should be easy to make but have you tried a charity shop?
As well as paid stuff I have actually done some flying today. The living room is now cleaner.Spend less now, work less later.12 -
As long as you have a sewing machine and know how to operate it curtains are very straightforward, ASB, particularly if it's a cupboard curtain because that doesn't need lining. If you don't have a sewing machine it's very do-able by hand as long as you like running stitch or backstitch and have some time to spare. You Tube is your best friend here. The quickest easiest way: buy a curtain from a CS that's roughly the size you want widthwise and then just shorten it, or buy a sheet and cut it to size. Decide how you're going to fix it, be it by whacking in a couple of panel pins one either side, or on a bit of stretchy covered wire fixed both ends with an eyescrew. It'll sag eventually but you can at least swish it to one side when you want access. As Mum to Many says, curtains are basically just a big square, so for anyone with little sewing experience they're the ideal place to start and cupboard curtains are the most straightforward of the lot.Better is good enough.13

Oh my days I am clearly tired because I read that as a cardboard curtain ASB. I am hopeless at anything practical so no help at all, but I am sure you are much cleverer than me at this sort of stuff. Oh and I would pay £1.20 to £1.40 for your eggs, supermarket ones are over £1.
Not a great nights sleep again but after a couple of days of feeling fragile I feel more like myself today. Going with DS for his CT scan in the morning. I may have to drive to the big city, and DS is an awful passenger, but I am glad I am going with him.
Stir fry made and kitchen tidied, DW on. Clean washing put away and cordless hoover run around. Mr M shop done because they sent me a voucher for £20 off an £80 shop - and I got free delivery.
Might do a little yoga and see if it helps me sleep. No caffeine since lunchtime today, not that it probably makes any difference.11 -

Big hugs to Dizzy, rant on. As others have said, you need to do what is best for you but I don't know what to suggest.
Healing vibes Valli.
ASB I think my neighbour charges £1.50 per half dozen for her free range. We got some from somewhere south of the Peak District (a farm shop we stopped for a coffee at en route home) and they were over £2.
Body Pump and Body Balance this am, was really hot in Pump so wasn't sure I'd manage Balance; fortunately she did a nice stretchy yoga/pilates/balance which was both slow and calming.
Went to Mr T on the way home for a few things. Ouch to the prices.
Printed off /labelled paperwork for tomorrow's private assessment. Looks a very complicated profile, sigh.
Watered pots and greenhouse.
Filled bird feeders.
Leftover veggie moussaka for dinner, I made a big one yesterday early before we went to see Elvis (Meercat Movies discount of course) - great film. Just needed to snip some chard from the garden. Also snipped some foliage as I have some flowers to arrange.
I'm sure I did some other flying, just can't recall what.......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12 -
Morning ladies
Thank you for your advice on both fronts. I am looking forward to giving the cupboard curtain a go, I may even be brave and post a photo when done!I need to collect DD from her sleepover later this morning, then this afternoon I have a meeting about some volunteer work I am interested in. Feeling nervous and brave about said meeting all at the same time if that makes any sense at all.Dinner is pork chops. Washing already on the line. Right I need to feed the animals and have more tea. Have lovely days all xx8 -
Morning, ladies,
Lots of hugs, especially to Dizzy, Valli, YL and Ionafan xx
Big well dones to ASB, for being brave, and to Kaz, for the steps and the weight loss. I am putting slinky back on track from mid September, so you can hold me to that - eek - no point before then, as it looks like there is a teeny chance that we might be actually going on holiday before then. I don’t want to jinx that thought, though.
Finally, today, I have a day off from the paid stuff. I’ve been in the WAC for more nights than I care to remember, and no different last night.
I’m taking DD to the hospital this morning (big town, so not so much of a trek), then dropping her later at the station for a couple of days away with friends. So a day of taxiing, with hopefully some flying in between.
I’ve been keeping up with the wm and the kitchen dailies, but unfortunately not with mount ironmore.
Mr M delivered earlier in the week. It is all away, which shows that I didn’t have tons of shopping, but cost maybe 30- 40% more. Eye watering, for so few actual meals. Having said that, I might suggest that DH drives to the fish and chip van in the next village this evening, as I am sick of cooking up meals.
Must go, it’s an early appointment. Have a good day, all x9 -
Fayolle Monday mornings is my 'weigh in day' and posting up about it on here, as I feel it holds me accountable, to someone, as OH just says stuff like yes that's good, your doing ok etc, but putting it down makes it more 'real', so join me if you wishAny way who has upset Zeus and Thor

We WERE going to head off with a picnic to a 'coffee afternoon'.. alas it is wet and the building in question is not big enough for everyone so we aren't going.. Pixie is upset.. not that she had any clue where it was we were going, she just wants to go out.. she is a very social creature.
knitting sleeves today and I may dance Henry around.. OH can shovel poop and lift boxes and play a game of 'Kitty' with Twinkle if he surfaces in time

well I have been doing bits and bobs of flying, please don't throw me out! I have managed to hoover the bedroom and landing and threw the stairs into the mix whilst I was at it. sprayed door handles etc through the house, emptied the blooming hoover three times, my dog NEVER stops moulting! swished and swiped kitchen and bathroom again this morning, made bed etc. Sending hugs etc to those who need them, Dizzy I hope things have calmed down a little for you and you're feeling less fraught xx Piggers I am sorry you ended up not going out
I got all my drains cleaned out when I did the bathroom so that is a big job off my list.
