Ebay withholding future payments

You are not using the correct number then, mine printed via ebay are in the format 050A0428ELL (the 2 last letters have been replaced for confidentiality) and that one was sent yesterday and currently shows as Sorry, we're currently unable to confirm the status of your item with reference 050A0428ELL . Please try again tomorrow.

This one was sent on the 15th and shows as delivered with this message '

Delivered

Your item was delivered on 18-08-2022.'

I think the numbers are slightly different format if purchased via RM . However, when adding numbers direct from RM postage online remove all dashes and spaces and make it one continuous number.

I did not buy via Ebay's postage, I went direct to RM and I can tell you I am entering both codes/numbers 100% correct. The Certificate of posting's bar code number (no other number) and the RM WP-1345-7797-*** number and both bring no joy.

I do use RM online for some of my parcels that aren't bought on ebay and I've just checked- go into your purchased labels click view label and it shows your delivery confirmation number, mine is 11-085 8BC 0XX (last 2 numbers changed) when I input that number it shows as 'An update will only be provided when we attempt to deliver your item' which means it has not been delivered.

That one was posted Monday so we are already nearly a week after posting without it being delivered.

It doesn't show in my RM account so I must have purchased it by not logging into my account in this instance. All I have is the RM email as proof (and of course the certificate of posting from the PO)

Does your Post office scan your parcels to issue a receipt, as if so the number will be on there. If you use a pre papered POP (which I use if I drop off at the mail centre) then that doesn’t record the number you need but I do try and remember in those cases to keep a copy of the label as a download.

if you regularly use RM to buy labels for eBay then get into the habit of adding your delivery confirmation number to the sale as soon as you print the label, that will save all this hassle in future. Or just buy via eBay as the number is added automatically. 

They didn't scan the package no. Just gave me a certificate of posting that has a barcode number the RM does not recognise. RM have not got back to me via Twitter either. Pretty hopeless.

Ended up refunding as buyer still not received item. 

Spent half an hour filing a claim on RM website, which they make very difficult indeed. They have quick time outs, make you enter manually with no way of pasting numbers. After all that they tell me I can't claim as I need to wait 10 days which will be tomorrow.

The RM will still not let me make a claim until 10 days AFTER the due delivery date which is the 30th Aug. Unbelievable.

There are strikes at Royal Mail at the moment. ebay should know this and inform buyers to allow more time.

That code doesn't look right, but I'm not certain. For standard parcels you need to get the code from the label, I don't think it is anywhere else on the emails from Royal Mail.
Its in the top left above the QR code. In the below image it is 11-00A E8C 15E

The Reference code is cut and pasted from my RM email so it is correct. Unfortunately it now says in the email QR code unavailable,

The RM WP number you mentioned earlier is incorrect and won't work with track and trace.
Jon's advice above is correct.

Yes I have. I have a scan of the email with the bar code or QR code but there is no ref number.
