    Good news

Just had email confirmation that they are extending 1%cashback to Feb 23 for anyone who joined before Feb 22.

You don't need to accept the offer in the reward section of the app - it's automatic to 28th Feb 23.

Guess I was right, they must have a big  marketing budget to keep us.
Is there any update on what happens after 28th Feb 23 or are we to assume they will withdraw the cashback  as the t& c's?
End dates can be different for different people. Those who got in at the very beginning have an end date of 28/02/2023. Anyone signing up today has an end date of 20/01/2024.

As and if Chase change it, we will hear - like we did last time when they extended the cashback period for existing customers.

As soon as that cashback is gone I'm using Chase as a switch donor.

Also, worth considering keeping it (it is free) if you have any chance to travel to the USA as Chase has a USP for free ATM withdrawal at local Chase ATM
We travelled to USA back in May 2022 with shiny new Chase account full of excitement at being able to withdraw penalty free cash (up to £700 I believe) in the USA. We were there 2 full weeks, travelled across 4 states and only saw one Chase bank/ATM during that whole time. Actively searched to find one the whole trip. It was disappointing. If we used a non Chase ATM to withdraw cash, then it cost a not insignificant fee to use the non Chase ATM. So we bought everything on credit and had no cash the whole holiday. It’s not as great as they make it out to be.
You can find some ATMs in the USA that either don't make that direct charge or it's a low amount like $1.

This is what you'd look for with no local Chase ATMs or with something like Starling anyway.

My 1% rate runs out late March.

That’s when my Chase CA turns into a donor account.

Chase is the ONLY bank in the US to have branches in all 48 of the contiguous United States some 4,700 plus
    Did you try https://locator.chase.com/

Exactly, only states they do not have a presence are Alaska and Hawaii.. obviously they may concentrate their presence only in major cities in certain states.

@SuzeQStan The fees that you would incur at non Chase ATM would have been incurred with any cards other than the ones issued by the ATM operator. Pre Chase my go to option was to use my UK Santander Select Debit Card but that was only available in major cities on the east coast.  Bottom lines is that Chase is really the stand out option for ATM usage in the USA coming from the UK. What 4 states did you travel where you could only find one Chase ATM?

As far as I know Chase is not yet part of CASS so cannot be used as “donor”. They have sent various survey indicating that they are looking at ways to continue as a Reward account, and thus I would not be too quick to close it down. It does not cost any money, so could be kept open with £1 on it.

Regarding the cashback, would direct debits for items such as council tax and credit card bills be considered? I didn't notice a direct reference in Chase's list.

Cashback (currently, as it may change in the future) is for debit card payments only

No to direct debits and also no to paying your credit card bill by DC. Do you really think it would be that easy? The exception will relate to at least one of these:
    • Account and prepaid card funding
    • Debt repayments
    • Deposits
    • Money transfers

@Marchitiello - Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, North & South Carolina.

we were going off of chase’s own list of ATMs- problem being that many of those listed no longer existed - well all except the one that we found in Richmond Indiana.

For example there were 2 x chase ATMs listed in Lenoir City tenn - but when we got there they weren’t there any longer.

Stopped looking after about a week as it wasn’t worth the time we were wasting looking for them.
