Virgin Money Cashback Switch Offer August 2022

Complaining about how you wish others wouldn't dial down into the terms also wastes space.
There are some who not only thinks of no.1 but others also. So, that's probably their angle.
Frankly, 'what matters' is a matter of opinion. Everything having pages and pages? Humbug! The virgin money offer has about 4 lines.0 -
i want to open an account. i am waiting for the DD's to appear on my donor account. is it easy/possible to start the switch online AFTER opening the account with Virgin or is it only possible to do it as part of the signup?0

As long as you switch within 45 days of opening the account you will get the cashback (assuming you meet the rest of the terms of the offer). So yes, you can switch after opening the account.pfpf said:i want to open an account. i am waiting for the DD's to appear on my donor account. is it easy/possible to start the switch online AFTER opening the account with Virgin or is it only possible to do it as part of the signup?1 -
sure, i get that but i was wondering if it then had to be done over the phone. iv'e answered this myself now as my OH has just checked on her app and it can be done via the app afterwards. cheers.Bridlington1 said:

Finally approved my account yay 😀
My relative opened one, not realising you had to keep £1000 in the linked saver for potentially up to 14 days- they have absolutely no disposable income and I can’t lend it to them, so if they ‘cancel’ the agreement as stated in the welcome email within 14 days, does it erase the account ever being opened?
As in- it never existed?
im asking because in the future, they might be able to then benefit from a switch offer when they have more money to play with.0 -
Anyone????0
-
Normally no, all it'll do is close the account (which you can do at any time).0
-
Ah that sucks. Seems unfair that they’ll not be able to get a future switch incentive just because they OPENED the account. I think the term is unfair to exclude anyone who has had an account. Surely it should just be anyone who’s benefited from a switch offer previously.0

The whole point of the 14 day cooling off period is to go through the terms and if you don't agree change your mind. I.e. cancel
I doubt doing that would count as an 'opened' account.0 -
Thanks OceanSound, I think I’ll get them to do that then and explain this if in future they’re declined a switch offer. Thanks0
