I got this off a website The chocs I made today did not get a bloom on them, I dont think there is much to worry about. As long as you dont make them weeks in advance I dont think it will be a problem
Chocolate Bloom
Chocolate bloom is visible by whitish streaks or dots on the surface of the Chocolate and can be the result of two things. One cause of Chocolate bloom is Chocolate that is allowed to get warm, allowing the Cocoa Butters to separate from the Chocolate and rise to the surface in whitish streaks or swirls. This is not a sign that your Chocolate is inedible, just that it does not look as pretty.
Another type of Chocolate Bloom is "Sugar Bloom". Sugar bloom occurs when moisture is allowed to get to the Chocolate (such as in a refrigerator) and the water draws the sugar to the surface as it evaporates, leaving white dots of sugar crystals on the surface of the Chocolate. Though sugar bloom does not affect the taste of the Chocolate, it does result in a somewhat grainy texture.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
I have taken pics with my webcam on my laptop (don't have a camera- it broke!) and I've tried to attach them (they are saved as a file, or can be found in photobooth..) but when I click on insert image it just asks for a URL. I have no idea what to do! :S

I got mine a while back from Sainsbury's - which seems to be the one place you haven't mentioned on your list.
How you doing LouBlue?
I'm ok! Haven't put them in any fancy bags yet, doing that tomorrow. Tried to ice one but it was a disaster. :rotfl: Shall stick to icing on large slabs or Easter eggs I think. OH has tried a couple and said they were delish.
Here they are just out of the fridge anyway.
Love hearts, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh.
Milk choccie, white choccie and dark/mint choccie.
Some of them have tiny bits of marshmallow in them and some have crushed almonds in them, bit of a lucky dip.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

Oh yes they are!! LouBlue they look great. I bet all the kids big and little will love 'em! :T :T :T
As I said, my icing didn't work out either - so I'm going to stick to those icing tubes - the Barbie glitter ones look even nicer than the plain colours and they are so easy! I'm definately going to use them on any future slabs/choccies I make. Its great they work as a glue too for sticking on h&t's and the like. Additionally I'm also thinking of making two colour choccies, dipping the darker colour ones into white chocolate say... Also, trying different fillings, I LOVED the raisin ones, and marshmallows and choccie are great too, so were malteasers.. I bought some chocolate stirrers in Bruges for making hot chocolate drink and this is what they mean by "chocolate bloom" As its just for stirring into milk it doesn't make any difference to the taste but I'm guessing you wouldn't want it on sweets.0

Neither was I. Thanks.
QS - The shapes were just too small for me to ice, I don't have a steady hand.
But can't wait to do Easter eggs for everyone. :jA cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0
