Managed to get the heart shaped mould some peeps have mentioned from ikea in Edinburgh today and a star one too. They had loads of them. They also have the ones in the below pics.
The Jigsaw ones are quite cool. All only £1 each

We got the jigsaw & star ones today too
They're fab aren't they?
Although we are keeping our fingers crossed that the stars all 'pop' out in one pieceSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

This look great!!
Whats the red stuff on the top?Love this site!0 -
The trays p;ictured, are the ones in the bottom row bottle shaped? If so perhaps you could do alcohol based chocolates, or don't both with the chocolate and just freeze vodka :rotfl:0

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think Vodka freezes :rotfl:0

Lol neither it does. Ah well you will just need to drink it as is.

I'm sat here in work and getting sooo excited about making my chocolate slab! although slightly worried as I'm no cook and could honestly burn toast!
Right I need to get the following:
1. Loaf tin what size?
2. 2 bars of 200g chocolate
Can someone just give me step by step instructions on what I need to do, sorry to sound so thick, also I like the idea on malteasers what do I do just break them up and put them in? Going to make one for my OH for his bday on valentines day! :j:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -
ooh im getting excited about making this for my OH for valentines day!!
found this on the hotel chocolate website and am going to enlist my mother who is a trained confectioner (!!!) to get me swirling. COULD be a disaster, but I'll show it to you whatever happens!!! i have got little jelly hearts for the top too, so could end up a swirling lumpy mess. but it was made with love so thats all that counts!!

Jamtart6, that's the exact same picture that inspired my Christmas chocolate slabs! I did three in a heart shaped silicon mould. The one for my Mum and Dad had milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate down the middle then chopped dried apricots, raisins and chopped brazil nuts scattered artfully on top! My sister doesn't like dark chocolate so for hers I did a bit of white chocolate swirled out from one of the curves of the heart, and aero bubbles balls on top! The third one was for kids so I put magic stars and white chocolate buttons on top. I was certainly wishing I had a confectioner on hand to give me some tips while I was making mine, but actually they looked nice and I was really pleased with them!
When you've done yours be sure and tell us the best technique for doing the swirls please!0
