I'm wondering if making a truffle mix (ie double cream mixed with melted chocolate), poured into a chocolate case would work. To make truffles you let it harden, but if you could pour it into the chocolate whilst it was still warm, it may work. Not too warm though, else you might ruin the chocolate case.
Dont forget though if you use fresh cream the choccies won't keep very long as we don't use all those preservatives and probably need keeping in the fridge.Clearing the junk to travel light

I've got a round silicone cake tin. I melted some plain chocolate (In a glass bowl set over a saucepan of water - don't let water touch the bowl). I used 200g of plain chocolate. I poured that in. Then I melted 100g of white chocolate, and gently poured on top. Then using a skewer (or anything thin) I gently swirled to get the marble type pattern. When it had been sat for about an hour, I added the chocolate stars (Dr Oetekar ones, brought from supermarket). When it was very nearly set I used a knife to make the indent for cutting.
Next time I'll probably try and make more slices, as it was quite sickly. I need to practice trying to get a neater line also.
I used Waitrose belgian chocolate, and I worked out it cost me about £2.60 to make. Now I just need to figure out a way of wrapping them for xmas pressies.

Looks great Sharon, let me know how you get on slicing it.

I am sure this has been mentioned already, but I am planning to make florentine type chocs - using the petit four cases from poundland, and then topping with mixed chopped dried fruit and nuts/crushed crunchies/crushed maltesers/chopped up fudge pieces/homemade candied orange peel/crystallied ginger etc (not all on the same one by the way!!! :rotfl:), then stack them up and wrap in tissue and cello.
I used the snowman soup cones as gift tags last year (name on the back of the instruction label), so I might do the stack as the gift tag instead! Means you can make the pressie cheaper cos everyone is so impressed with the tag they dont notice!! :rotfl::T0 -

Just had a thought, if you make flapjacks that are too crumbly, you could sprinkle them on the top too!0 -
Hello there,
Just found this thread last night and I've read up to p18...then the last 2.
The Pizzas look brill.
I have tried making small chocolate coins then stick other sweets on top, my idea being small gifts for people we forgot. ( did I say forgot....never we made these especially for you!!!!!)
However my problem is that it went well they looked great but as soon as you picked them up to put in cello bags they started melting. Has anyone else found this or is there a way to avoid it.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
