right thats it, im dying to try these for someone!! I think my OH could be getting on in his xmas present! I think mini marshmallows would be well cute on top..... as long as they dont sink!!

  • Great ideas!! :) i have a silicone heart shaped ice cube tray which will be perfect for little chocs! :)

  • I've made these lovely biscuits for gifts this Christmas and have worked out that each jar cost me approx £2.25 including the jar! I'm trying to work out how to post a picture of them (can anyone help?). Basically they're glass Kilner jars (from a local cheapo shop) and I've tied some old labels on them with my neatest handwriting saying "Homemade shortbread fingers drizzled with dark dark chocolate, made with love, Happy Christmas". And they look top! I've made mini-florentines too but they're not quite as foolproof and also they work out a bit more expensive.
A lot of my friends have had children this year and it's getting expensive to buy individual pressies so we're giving these jars out cos they're a family gift and hopefully the contents will be demolished appreciatively!

Too post an image, the easiest way is to upload a photo to a site like photobucket which then allow you to copy the url, which you pase into the box when you click the insert image icon (InsertImage.jpg) on this forum!

Hey i think you mean the ones i did, if so i used some triangle moulds from Ikea and poured either white or milk chocolate in one corner, then (whilst still gloopy) poured in the other colour, then with a cocktail stick i just kinda twiddled it a round a bit, its actually alot easier than it seems!
I then put them in the fridge for a bit till the set.
If you look on the pic though you will notice that some of them have a cream look to the whit chocolate because i mixed the white and milk chocolate then added more milk to see if it looked any better lol.

Oooo I popped into Wilkos for a few bits whilst out picking up flu and cold remedies (sniffle) and I spotted a chocolate melter! Complete with moulds and everything reduced down to £7 from £10. So now everyone is getting chocolates for Christmas!

  • I've been following this thread and the more I read the more I want to make choccies.

I keep mentioning it to my other half and he's been say "who will you give them to", "do you really *need* to make them".

    YES I DO!!

I'm sending him out in a bit for a car load of chocolate. Mine will be in the same vain as pig_let_cool's choccies as I've only got square silicone ice cube trays. Might try larger slabs in a baking tray with cling film.

    I shall report back.

p.s. I can see these forums being very bad for me in a good kinda way!

Can I ask those of you who are using ice cube trays, do you need to line them with something so the chocolate comes out easily?
