I'd call that a real dilemma
Agree. But this section is for moral dilemmas.
MSE MMDs are posted on various boards across the forum, depending on the content.
Last weeks MSE MMD was posted on this board:

If you mean this thread is about a MMD, I would agree.
But overall, this website is a money saving website.
And I don't think it's wrong to point out that the fact that someone has £200 per month to spend on lunches or food - on top of what their other food budget is - could upset some posters who don't have that luxury.1 -
Partner? You sound more like flatmates if you need to ask this question.2

Use half of it to treat yourself and half towards the food bills0

Evidently, you aren't married, so it's entirely up to you how you use the allowance. Why get others involved in your decision-making?1

I would spend it on things for us both. Cos we are partners and he supported me when I was earning less
Blimey though £200 just for lunches?? I couldnt possibly spend that on lunches in a monthWith love, POSR1 -
Don’t tell him you’re getting £200/month
“What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him”....right?
Do you have children together?0 -
How can you even ask? or is it a case of what's yours is mine and what's mine stays mine? Just how would you feel if you found out that your partner was doing what you suggest.0

An employer giving a perk?! Wow, unheard of in my entire life! more economic to use it on the food bill and make your own lunch. Don't worry if no fridge at work - most places don't havce that, and folks take lunch. Food isn't going to go off within the few hours between taking it out of the friedge at home and eating it later in the day. let's face it we never had fridges at home at one point, never mind at work and we all took lunches! Then you have choices, like just lower food bill, or us the saved food money for something else.

The thought of £200 perk for lunch is making me envious.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)2 -
If we were talking about a monetary annual bonus, I don't think most people would share that with their partners and this is only the same, it's a benefit/perk of the job. £200 does sound a lot for lunches, so maybe prioritise the money on your lunch but then any left over put into the household food budget for the next month. After all there could be a time in the future where you pay more towards the bills than him.0
