I sent my item off but I wonder what happens if it gets lost , I didn’t buy the postage nor arrange the label so it seems unlikely I can claim for loss. When I sell on eBay I have complete control over my postage, I have receipts, I know I have the correct postage and I know I can claim if something is lost.I have bought from seller's who had selected an option for "Custom postage". However, I don't know how they enabled that option. When I listed my own items the options were preset. Perhaps a look at the Vinted community section will give you the answers if you want to select your own postage type and sent it in the way you prefer.I wonder if only those who have sold a few items can change the postage options but I don't know if that's the case. I don't seem to be able to add that option when I try to edit my listing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I’ve used eBay, Vinted and facebook market place. I have sold quite a lot over all, most have been baby stuff. All big items like play mat, high chair, swing etc went on Facebook within 1-3 days. I find clothes harder to sell. I joined Vinted a couple of months ago and have seen lots of good reviews from other mums for selling. I have sold 6 items so far which has been a toy, bag, dresses and baby clothes. I think it’s really simple to use a part from the fact the shipping label doesn’t work on your phone so I have to print it off which is a bit of a pain. The tracking updates after 1-2 days, I’ve brought things too and had no issues. Over the years, I’ve sold loads on eBay but I find their fees quite a lot. I would list on all three, then after a while maybe just go to the charity shop. I sometimes sell things that I’ve had listed for like a year but I find the storing it all annoying.0

The cost of postage is always covered by buyers. It is added to the item’s price as a part of the total buyer’s purchase.
New buyers sometimes get offered free postage
From another site
"I got free shipping on my first order recently. Was definitely because I was new as I got DD to look at the same item and it was charging postage for her to buy it."

Yes as above it says in my inbox that my first purchase will be free of postage.
I’m only selling at the moment, I sold something for £3 last Friday which I posted The same day via Evri, it arrived Wednesday and buyer confirmed they were happy yesterday and £3 showed in my balance last night. I’ve requested a withdrawal to my bank account which is due early September (the 3rd I think it was), I used a label supplied by Vinted that didn’t cost me anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just be warned Vinted and Evri are having major tracking issues. My items are not even being shown as sent despite being taken and dropped off at Evri 3 days ago. According to Vinted They are aware of these issues and it will be sorted out- but suggest letting the buyer know it was sent as the system will show it as unposted and it might get reversed. Then when you track the number on Evri , it is accepted but the tracking just doesn't work, nothing happens at all.I now have 2 things in the post with Evri that don't show as even posted, and another to go today- so I might block sales using my holiday settings until this is sorted out as reading other forums there is only a short period of time before sale is cancelled and seller loses their money.EDIT if you go through a third party tracking system and not Evri then the tracking works. However it doe snot update on Vinted.2nd EDIT - just had a message from Vinted that says I 'must' ship my order as it is now late despite tracking showing it is awaiting pick up by the buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I did have the delay in Vinted updating the item as sent. In fact it only updated the same day that the buyer collected it. However, Ihave never had a problem with Evri where the item did not update on the Evri website as being dropped off at the Parcelshop. I consider the Evri tracking to be very reliable in that regard at least. Vinted does give a link to go directly to the Evri tracking page once the label is printed I believe.

My go to sites for selling are Shpock, Gumtree, Preloved and Nextdoor. Variable success with each of them, with the exception of Preloved, which I haven't managed to sell anything on yet. I can't be bothered with the faff of postage/packaging for sending things away and I don't have Facebook, otherwise I think Facebook groups are most useful for selling locally.I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.0
