Morning all, is it me or is it still as humid in the SE? I just can't cool down, have done some ironing as DH needed his railway uniform today - he's giving me a day to myself while he plays with his steam trains for the day 👍
It's grey outside so I'm not sure if the washload I've done will dry or just get wet!!
I've got some packing to do later, and clearing a couple of bookcases/cupboards in the kitchen to do today.
Also am going to make a crumble with the stewed plums and rhubarb that are in the fridge.
Need to hoover and get the slow cooker curry on later too. And then after that I think I'll flake out on the sofa ..well that's once I've wiped my sweat puddles off the floor🤣Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Huge congratulations GI. How wonderful!Kaz, if you'd set out on a one way walk doing that number of paces, where would you have reached by now going north, south, east or west? Or whichever direction you fancied? Massively well done on the weightloss and fitness.(((Hugs))) for Poppet.I managed to sort out most of the tidal wave on my desk on Monday and had intended to deal with an urgent piece of paperwork yesterday after I walked Layla. Unfortunately I fell over on the walk at about 11.00 am. I think I slipped on a damp step in shoes that had no grip. Either way, it was extremely painful and a bit of a nightmare because I didn't have my phone with me, not a situation I will ever allow myself to get into again. I had a lot of help from total strangers and eventually our neighbours and finally Belovéd when I got hold of him. I got home from the Minor Injuries Unit at 6.30pm with a plastercast on my ankle, crutches, and an appointment at the Fracture Clinic early next week where, I have been told already, it is quite likely they will recommend surgery. It's going to be at least a couple of months before this heals. I'm so frustrated - I haven't achieved anything like Kaz but I have been section hiking The Dartmoor Way this summer after getting myself a bit fitter this year and had managed 15 miles a few days ago in one day. Ashburton is lovely, by the way, totally under-rated.Flying, cooking, dog walking, hiking, everything's on hold and it hurts.Better is good enough.11

Wow HB, hope you're not in too much pain.
Competition done here. My team lost but it was the final, very close and at least we'll get the runners up award.
Poppet has had a second walk and was a little more enthusiastic.Spend less now, work less later.11 -

Good evening 🙂
HB that sounds painful, and must be so frustrating for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Natty I would love to share photos, but DD1 doesn't want any of his face on social media. I just want to show him off! 🤣
Jazee I'm sorry for your loss of littleydog. Poor Poppet 😓
I was in the WAC last night. I woke at 1:30am and visited the downstairs toilet, as the kitten is in the main bathroom overnight (cat flap available for crazy cat, and kitten not allowed out). DH then got up about 5 minutes later & let her out. Cue 2 cats chasing each other about "playing". She finally settled about half hour later, but I was awake by then. I was just dropping off at about 4am when a very drunk girl was screaming and effing & jeffing at her male companion in the street. It would appear that he was trying to make sure she got home okay 🙄 I finally got to sleep at 5ish for an hour or 2 😕
New TV delivered this morning. DH has marked out where the bracket is going, but will put it up tomorrow when I finish work.
Flying - DW done, WUPA, boxes put out for bin men along with food that I don't want to compost (half a loaf & some ham). Paid stuff done. 2 yr old girl is obsessed with the kitten and tries to pick her up every time I look away!! Poor kitten is traumatised 😭 I think I did other stuff, but can't remember now! I do remember falling asleep on the sofa after work! SW tonight - maintained. I need to get my slinky on to get back to target. I don't like paying!! 🤣
Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them x7 -

Congratulations GI.
We had the wild excitement of a fairly long thunderstorm today, plenty of rain and it has soaked in rather than flooded. Slightly irritating that it chose to arrive when my swimming buddy and I had booked to try a new lake - it was cancelled!
A rather 'bitsa' sort of week.
- done one gym swim, one body pump and one body balance.
- bird feeders filled numerous times.
- house fairly ok after big clean/tidy for weekend dinner guests.
- washing kept up with.
- report finished, emailed and appreciative comments received.
- wills updated and sent off.
- 2 more bags of 'village' greengages gathered, washed, stoned and frozen. No more room in the freezer, it's full of greengages. Reckon we have frozen 10-12lbs of them.
Tomorrow's plan:
- being picked up at 10am by next-village friend to help clean church then have coffee
- hope to manage either a run or a lake swim
- need to file a load of papers which keep falling off my desk rack
- need to order printer ink
- need to make progress with tax return, it has been stalled for a few weeks
- need to catch up calendar with Mr N to see what is happening before the summer hols are over; frightening thought.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Car being picked up at some unholy hour for the MOT.. we are utterly splatted if it fails.. we cannot afford repairs and have no idea how we could manage without a car.. we certainly wouldn't be able to get the girls to the inlaws .. healthy car vibes welcomed!Twinkle at opticians at 1pmboiler service is friday 12-6ish.. whenever they turn up IF they turn up!
School bits being deliveredI have run out of washing to get through so I will wash some children and a carpet.Just past halfway on the latest scarf.. only taken 10 days so far! I have the border on Spams rainbow blanket to do next and then I can do the 3 jumpers/cardies I have new patterns for.. they are chunky so should speed through.. I then want to do a second rainbow blanket for Jazzles and then finish Lions animal one.. it just needs sewing up but I am not brave enough to do it.. plus sewing up is so boring!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8
