Morning all
bit of a crazy work week again, dailies have been kept up with but not much else so today is catch up day. Cuppa first and feed the cats then on we go!Back later x9 -
Morning all xx
Thank you Jazee and HB xx I hadn't thought of it as overwhelm. I should know by now that it doesn't matter where I start as long as I start. There's not much rubbish just a lot of stuff. Still.
HB - please, please be careful if you plan to scoot about upstairs on a pot mover. Do they have brakes?
Glad to hear you enjoyed your break iona and that DH has made a good recovery. 😘
I'm up (woke up at 5.45) made my bed and supped my first brew. Another brew is required. I'll sort the laundry and set the first load swishing while I'm waiting for the kettle to boil.

Morning all
Iona I am so pleased you had a good break xx
Narco - you’re so kind. I do hope your friend is okay, hopefully she will be up for some lunch out as it might be a tonic for her xx
I am thrilled; I found a fireside leather chair for £20 on FB last night - the arms are quite worn but I am hoping stylishly cover it with a throw 🤣🤣. We have an open fire in the kitchen and it will be lovely snuggled on there reading in winter. The others I had seen were £200+.
Other than getting the chair and also DDs return from her sleepover I am not sure what today holds. I hope you all have peaceful days xxx10 -
The washing is pegged out. I'm dressed. I've eaten breakfast. I've squirted squirty stuff all over the hand basin in the bathroom and left it to soak into the grim grime.

ASB on a completely different scale I bought a work blouse in the charity shop yesterday, the most gorgeous burnt orange colour, with long sleeves and a high neck so I can get a thermal underneath it when the time comes. £3.99 well spent, happy days.
Feeling a bit fragile here, stuff about DS1 and his health constantly going around in a loop in my head. Have thrown myself into flying as DH is at work and I need to be busy.
Upstairs is done, having a cuppa then on with the downstairs, going to pull the sofa out in the kitchen and have a bit of blitz in there.9 -
Don't worry Round. If it feels unsafe I won't use it. I'm just a bit tired of bumshuffling to the bathroom and a low wheeled platform is one hundred times safer than crutches right now. Because of the state of our ambulance service the only way I could get to the xray and treatment unit was by plonking my butt on a pair of freezer mover wheeled supports which were cable-tied together to get down our sloping path. My bum platform was about 4" x 3" so the pot mover will be a lot more stable and safer! As our 70 year old neighbour with leukemia who had carried me up the path after the accident said while standing over me to catch me if I toppled over "This is like something you see in India or Africa." I just need to be able to move around safely without jangling the bones in the broken ankle too much. It'll all be a lot easier once the thing is properly set but I don't know when they'll be able to fit me in for surgery yet.New regime for bathroom rubbish has been invented. I need masking tape from downstairs though.Better is good enough.9

So far this morning I have
- got up, had breakfasted, showered and dressed
- changed the battery in the bathroom scales
- taken something out of the freezer for tea
- started WMx1 of 2
- spotted that the middle shelves in both of the two double wall cupboards in the utility need a bit of extra support, because they are sagging in the middle
- found a suitable length of sturdy timber in DH's man cave which I can saw up for that purpose, maybe later today or tomorrow (and got his permission!)
- had a chat with the vicar, took on a little printing job for church tomorrow (it was part of my work previously and that will be the last time for a while)
- did it!
- had a WA chat with the other vicar (aka DS2) about the suggested changes to his garden, most of which he and DDiL2 have carried out this morning - and thankfully they are delighted with the result
- thought about starting some admin...
- ...but first phoned a friend to make a coffee date for Monday - priority!
- spent a bit of time on research about something totally different and unnecessary but fun
Just about to start the work...

HB.. woman... sit your derriere down and stay put! You do not need to risk further injury by doing stuff which can wait!!! I swear you are doing more now than you did before! 'Pot mover' is for PLANT pots not for a leg cast!! lol.. You could always get a little wheelchair for scooting safely. But at least until the joint is stable please take it easy..
second parcel sorted and I need to buy a stamp.for Squeaks hospital forms for her Tourette's. First parcel collected.. *FLING*
I have some school bits to throw at V!nted over the weekend and I want to get one room at least vagueley resembling tidy.

Piggers, most of the time I'm on my back with my ankle raised above hip height but it's also important to move about a bit occasionally, so I do. The expeditions to the loo are necessary and involve me sliding off the bed to the floor via a footstool, shuffling backwards across the room, and then levitating myself up to the loo, again via the footstool. While I'm at floor level, or even when perched, it's amazing how much dust and gibble I can spy that's within easy reaching distance so it makes my life a bit more pleasant if I deal with it.If I had my Flylady Stars none of this dust, gibble and rubbish would be here. It's been breeding while I was hiking and growing tomatoes, going out and having fun this summer and not thinking about the house which is why I haven't been on Fred much. It had got to the point where I had come back to the Thread because the house really needed attention and I just can't motivate myself to do it without all my Flylady friends.Right now my world is very small indeed, and rather than drown in the gibble I need around me - talking books on the phone, earpods that need constant charging, puzzles and suduko on the computer, the glorious Tube of You to keep me edjumakated and hugely entertained, plus boxes and boxes of painkillers and wet wipes, I needed to clear the decks of piles of unread newspapers and other non-relevant clutter. I'm going to be stuck here until this ankle gets pinned and I suspect for a chunk of time afterwards, sadly, and I'd quite like not to choke on the dust and have my toys topple off the bedside table.I promise you I'm getting a lot of R&R and letting my body do some amazing healing. I've been reading up on what happens when we break bones, and I've broken three of them, and it's absolutely amazing, utterly fascinating. I had no idea how clever our bodies could be.Nappy sack attached to heated towel rail, instead of being masking taped to the tiles. Result!Better is good enough.8

HB.. Well please be very careful.. I know how dreadful ankle injuries are, my brother almost lost his lower leg due to a badly broken ankle which is why I am so worried about you! It comes from a place of love
My entire house is probably worse now than it was when I joined the thread/site in 2006 .. but I have 4 more children, 4 more cats and a lot less mobility than I did back then. And yes.. bodies are blooming amazing!!!!!
Twinkes glasses collected, hospital forms returned..
I think I may have become 'a lady of a certain age' ... I've had a week of randomly feeling very very hot, headachey and it may just be AF turning up in the next few days but this is different. Today I feel very old! lol
Off to fill my cupboards..
