Hi,

Im going on holiday abroad and have noticed that cheap airport car parks are no longer cheap. twice the price atm (over £60 for 2 weeks at Edinburgh airport) so Im planning to take a bus but its at 3am and I dont want to pay for taxi as its gonna be £30return plus bus tickets. no point doing that .Im thinking I could leave a car parked at business park where the bus leaves from. Its a massive place with office buildings and hotel and not all have signs or barriers to prevent you from parking. for example hotel doesnt and few other spots. Can I do that or I will be fined or something else going to happen? thanks!

It depends on who owns the car park, what terms there and and how much they care.

I'd be wary of leaving a car in an industrial estate or hotel car park for 2 weeks though.

Is £4 a day too much to park a car? Many places it is that for a couple of hours.

All I would say is be very careful parking in places like you are thinking about.

£60! for 2 weeks!! If you think that is expensive, check out charges at Gatwick!!!

Leaving a car for any length of time at a place where you have no "right" to leave a car can have issues, clamping, removal, vandalism, theft
BiB ... Unless it is Council-owned land, or the Police have served notice for clamping/removal, then anyone else doing so is committing a criminal act (Protection of Freedoms Act 2012).

How much is your car worth?

How much are you paying to go on holiday?

£60 is not a lot for peace of mind that I will be able to drive my car home on my return.

You can leave it on the public road, subject to any parking restrictions in force. Park it on private property at said business park and that's a different matter.
For £60, it's not a wise move to do either though.

As the OP hasn't made clear exactly where they will be parking, I included those in case they were actually parked somewhere which could be designated as public highway or was council owned
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
