This is a very weird tariff which does not work in a place like Lichfield which has a theatre, bars and eating places open in the evening. The tariff changes at 19.00 so if you are having an early evening meal before going to the theatre you would have to nip out and buy another ticket after 19.00. Who ever thought this up has set people up to fail. It's not helping the businesses either.

A lot of these threads and comments are really helpful (am currently being threatened by Smart Parking), am wondering if they discontinue and drop cases when the defendant has quite a robust defence?  If we don't have much of a defence but still say we'll go to court, do you guys think they may still drop the case?

Not a discontinuance but an actual Court hearing and a win!

Excel & DBC legal pursuing me for a case of 'double dipping' - Judge ruled in my favour and awarded my costs applied for on the grounds of them being unreasonable.

Drove through car park twice but they maintained I stayed the whole time. Told then to check their ANPR records but they still insisted I remained.

DBC didn't even bother sending one of their own staff (just an advocate for hire) and the Judge (quite rightly) basically said, "The Defendant's here to answer questions about his evidence but the Claimant isn't...."

Awarded costs on the argument that it's unreasonable to pursue the case all the way to Court when you had the evidence to corroborate the Defendant's version of events all along

The brilliant legal eagles at DBC actually included an ANPR log in their evidence bundle showing 4 entries (in / out / in /out). 

At least that's what it appeared to show but, who knows, as they weren't there to explain!
