Natwest digital regular saver - what to do after saving £1000

I have not read the whole thread but I understand this question is no longer relevant as you could now pay up to £5,000. Certainly you will still need to cream the balance if the £5k threshold is exceeded.0

Could be relevant for those who extensively used round up loopholeadindas said:I have not read the whole thread but I understand this question is no longer relevant as you could now pay up to £5,000. Not me, I do some from time to time, don't have enough time and patience to do it on the scale to bring these accounts to 5k. I have only £2,143 in each. 1 Not me, I do some from time to time, don't have enough time and patience to do it on the scale to bring these accounts to 5k. Just tried the Settle up round up scheme with Chase and it worked so clearly both accounts being in the same name isn't the problem and for some reason Natwest is.0

opened RBS digital regular saver a few days ago and switched the round ups on in the app 2 days ago - nothing seems to have happened, how long it usually take to get started?0

The actual round ups are posted a few days in arrears to the card transactions.
Obvious question but have you made a card payment that qualifies to be rounded up since you turned it on, and is the transaction still showing as pending or has it settled?1

ah good point - yes have done a couple of transactions using the card and they are indeed still "pending" - sounds like that might be the problem. will be patient for a few daysTheBanker said:The actual round ups are posted a few days in arrears to the card transactions.

Correct. Once they clear, the round up or double round up will show as a transfer to your savings account.Flugelhorn said:

I did notice that two debit card payments made on the same day only generated a single round up transfer.1

Also it may be worth noting that if, like me, you end up making around 30 £1.01 debit card deposits into NS&I before remembering that you had turned off round ups the previous day to be eligible to enter into a prize draw, turning double round ups on will result in the round ups for the 30 debit card deposits you'd made whilst round ups were off go through.RG2015 said:

Essentially any payment that clears when round ups are switched on will be rounded up, regardless of whether round ups were on when you made the card payment.1

That’s very interesting, but academic as I very rarely use my debit card. If I do need to use a debit card, I use Chase for the 1% cashback.Bridlington1 said:

I also fear the bank may end up blocking my accounts, so I am not tempted to contrive transactions for a relatively small payback.1
