I can do this now, even though it's not bills day, as my credit cards shouldn't change in the next two days. Comparison, month to month.

    July
Money taken from savings £1,300 (not repaid)
    CC One £974.29
    CC Two £311.54

    August
Money borrowed from savings £450 (repaid on 25/8/22)
    CC One £795.70
    CC Two £125.27

I won't be able to repay the £1,300 from July back into the saver, because it is a regular saver so I can only borrow and repay in the same calendar month. I may however think about paying it into a different savings account, just to feel that I've got myself back square again once the budget is more stable.

I slept badly on Monday so Tuesday felt like the worst Monday ever. I ended up buying a sandwich, it was that bad. Today I've slept better. Still feel exhausted, can't wait for the weekend. Even more excited for my holiday. I'm just trying to be kind to myself and not push too hard each evening. If I get the cats looked after complete with play time for both and scent swapping, and tidy the kitchen a little bit each evening, we're good.

It is raining here, and it feels like autumn is on it's way. It wasn't bright when I woke up, so I am really feeling the change of seasons today. My friend and I were talking about booking a holiday for January, and I think we should do it. I love winter sun, it really makes my whole winter better.

I've cancelled the window cleaner for tomorrow, firstly as it doesn't need doing but also because I don't want it to stress out the cats right now. I'm definitely a fair bit down the cat lady path, but I was here last month when they came and my cat spent at least 20 minutes under the wardrobe as a result.

I also called my old vets to cancel the "pet health club" I was paying for. It was good while she was an outdoor cat, but it is a waste now. I'll get them both registered at a new vet, but they won't need flea and wormer treatment every quarter like I used to do with an outdoor hunter cat. That's nearly £25 saved for September.

Otherwise, hump day is over, hooray! Only two more work days before I can have a sleep in. Also I must remember I have an hour of TOIL from Friday I can take this week. I might go celebrate by doing some washing up and making sandwiches for Thursday and Friday.

Hooray for a Saturday sleep-in! Sadly looks like I am covering at work Sunday morning though. :(

Friday night I went for sports group, followed by the pub, which was lovely. It's an expense, but I didn't buy dinner out, and it meant getting to know people in my area. Quality of life and all that.

Today I need to do a food shop, and then I am thinking about getting some supplies from the DIY shop to do a project, but I might postpone until I am back from holiday in September. In fact, I think that is a good idea. I could just as easily get some laundry done, weed the garden and maybe read a book this afternoon. I do have a voucher for the DIY shop, but I'm not sure I have the energy to think about the DIY project at the moment. Plus I'd then feel that I need to get tidied up before I go away so the catsitter isn't tripping over tools everywhere, and there are only 24 hours in a day.

I went food shopping, and it was quite an expensive one, but I bought extra sandwich boxes, food for a picnic out today, and restocked some essentials like loo roll. I've made 5 sandwiches this morning when I got back from work, and put 4 of them in the freezer. I've filled the car with petrol, but I'll probably use most of that today for the gig I am going to with my friend. I can't believe how fast that has come around!

I need to pack up the picnic, plus probably some towels and warm clothing because the weather is looking a bit rubbish and I don't want to have to sit in cold wet clothes the whole way home from the midlands. I'm sure I will want a coffee when we leave the venue this evening, and possibly will buy a cold drink or two while we are there, but we should be OK for food, so aside from all the petrol it shouldn't be too expensive a day.

I'm on holiday countdown now. I go on the morning of Tuesday 13th, and I can't wait. :) 6 more days of work to go.

6 days isn’t long until your holidays 😁
I hope you enjoy the gig. It’s been raining all day here today.

The gig was fun. We got rained on, but we had both taken waterproofs because we are approaching middle age and if you are going to an outdoor, early 00's pop-punk band to pogo in the UK in September, you have to expect to be rained on. We had a lovely lunch and a good chat while we waited for the bands to start. The journey home was less fun, as it took an hour to even get out the carpark and I still had many hours of driving to go. Today has been rough as I have been really tired, but it is nearly bedtime now.

Other than petrol and coffee after the gig, I haven't spent anything yesterday or today at work, so that's another win.

yes to the waterproofs 😁 I’m not a fan of gigs or concerts because big packed in crowds freak me out (and you can see it better on tv), but I feel you about being prepared. I don’t like to leave the house without my kindle in my bag…just in case 😂 You did great on the low spending.

The last few days at work have been pretty busy, and then I've been catching up on sleep in the evenings. I've been taking lunch every day and so not spending money really. Had to buy petrol and some work things that I can hopefully claim back.

I'm buying a gift for my sister in law as it's her birthday soon, but no other big spends planned. I'm so glad it is nearly the weekend, because that means it is nearly my holiday. Holiday shouldn't be expensive, it's all self-catering so I can choose to not overspend. All my travel is already paid for, and I'll be kept busy with the water activities that are included.

I also need to buy some cat stuff before I go away, to make sure the cat sitter has enough of everything. Plus I have a housewarming to go to this weekend.

Work only got more busy on Friday, I was there 2 hours extra getting stuff done. My colleague had been off for two weeks, so I'd been trying to keep everything afloat. Now it's her turn, because I'm writing from the train heading to the airport. 😁

I spent about £80 at the weekend on birthday and housewarming gifts, and a big bag of cat litter and other fun stuff. However, I won't need any petrol now until next month, and I'm holidaying with people who are happy to picnic at the beach rather than go to a restaurant.

I'm so ready for this holiday!
