I have just remembered that I owe cat tax @daintydaisy

She was supervising me from the armchair yesterday. :)

Today I have sorted out putting doors back on their hinges before my brother comes to visit. It didn't feel right to have no bathroom or bedroom doors just because I haven't finished fixing them yet, so there is a little bit of bodging going on. Frustratingly I bought the wrong screws on my way home from work, so I had to go out again and get a second, different box. Also I bought a ready meal and some other treats in an accidental hungry supermarket snackcident. I wanted a quick tea with the work I needed to do, but I shouldn't have spent nearly £14!

On the plus side, my payslip is looking good with the overtime over the last month. Payday is a week away but it feels good that I know what is coming through. Also, another successful days of taking a sandwich to work. :)

What a cutie!! She looks just like a kitty I had when I was younger.

We’ve all been there with “snackcidents” (love that term), I work in a shop so it’s hard to stay strong when you’re met with walls of chocolate which is on offer! Don’t beat yourself up about it :) at least you’ve got some munchies now.

Woop woop for overtime & payday being round the corner!!

So my brother arrived on Thursday and has gone home today. I need to have a little tot-up of what I have spent over this time, as I haven't been watching the pennies. I like to be able to provide nice food and a stress-free time, so I do tend to spend a fair bit more when I have guests. I needed a new duvet (£15) and I also have bought some basics for the rest of the week, but overall I have spent just under £100. That was not the intention, and the bit I am most unhappy with is the £20 uber eats delivery that was cold and we didn't get part of the order. Hopefully I will get a refund of at least part of it. This is a reminder to me of why I shouldn't bother ordering takeaway, it's so often a disappointment.

However, tomorrow is a new day and a new week. Back to my usual frugal habits. I did a comparison on my account balances excluding my regular saver, and compared to 21/7 I am £200 better off today a month later. I'm excited for 1/9 to do a comparison after a month of being careful.

Two sandwiches made up in the fridge for lunch tomorrow and Wednesday!

It's exam day tomorrow. I'm nervous, but I'll be so glad when it is over. I'm just stopping for an ice cream, and then I am going to go up to my bedroom and try to unpack the last couple of boxes I have been ignoring for 4 months. I can use the boxes to make a cat tower ready for the weekend. I've got free spotify on to dance along to while I get organised. I can do this!

Good - passed my exam. Now I can apply my attention to house stuff for a bit until I decide to do the next course.

Bad - car is in the garage. I made a mistake with this car, really seems like I bought a lemon. :(

Spendy - It's payday! Doing ALL the transferring to savings today! :)

Car cost just a smidge under £280 to fix. So frustrating.

Today I took a day of annual leave from work, just to feel like I am having a moment to breathe. I got my bedsheets in the wash first thing and hung them on the line. Took back my overdue library books and paid the fines I had accumulated. Bought some gardening supplies and some basic food, then made nice lunch of scrambled eggs on toast. I've booked my train to the airport for my holiday next month. Now I am clearing out the garage and mowing the lawn this afternoon. Might also be able to get another load of laundry done if it doesn't rain.

Yesterday was a rubbish day at work, just non-stop aggro and nonsense. Fortunately I had plans for an evening at the beach with friends. Went in the sea and instantly felt better. Had a chip butty for dinner which was my only spend for the day. I'm at work today, so just getting ready, and then tonight I am going to pick up the cat I am adopting. Excited!

I can't believe how tired I am tonight. Just posting before I sleep. Bought some cat essentials, petrol, and a coffee today. Worked and picked up new cat. Had a nosey through the window of my old house. Started letting the cats smell each other through the door. Long day.

It has been a busy weekend. Worked Sunday, followed by trying to catch up on sleep and laundry. I've been working on scent-swapping for the cats, moving bedding items back and forth, keeping a cat in one room while the other roams the house and vice versa.

Today I've visited a friend for the afternoon and had a good catch up. Back to work tomorrow. I'm still tired, but only 4 days to work this week, and only 2 weeks to my holiday.

Financially, I think things are looking good. My credit card balances look lower than a month ago. Full tally up on the 1st after all my bills go out.
