Yeah, I guess the biggest upside is feeling that my handbag is safe at work with my colleagues. Good point. Also, £20. Woo!Been a busy time. Just regular life stuff plus holiday prep. Nearly time.Had an extra £50 bonus from nationwide, so that's extra to the student loan. Not much else to report.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

I decided to get a new radio from amazon with my voucher. My DAB radio buttons have been dodgy for a while, it didn't really matter what button you pressed, it would make it's own mind up what it was going to do. As a result, the volume was a roulette of whether it would go up or down when you pressed the button. I got really fed up the other night when I just wanted a quiet bit of radio 4 to do the washing up with, but all I could get was far too loud. I ended up in a snit and ordered a new radio, which only came with a USB cable and no plug attachment, so then I ordered a new plug socket with the USB sockets built in. At least that is about half of the voucher used, and now I can turn the radio down. Happy days.I'm on my last couple of days before holiday. I'm excited by the holiday, but I am also really excited to come back. I've been putting off lots of house improvements until I come back, as I didn't have the budget for both. So when I come back from hols, I have loads of ideas of things I can start working on in the house. I'll move into the other bedroom and then I can decorate my bedroom. I started working on it a couple of years ago, but then just got too wrapped up in work so I've been in a soul-destroying half-stripped-of-wallpaper bedroom for a couple of years. It will be really nice to finish it off and finally have a nice bedroom again.I'm also thinking about switching around the lounge and dining room. The dining room is bigger, and just might work better for the sofas, but will mean painting again as the sofa will clash with the paint in my dining room. I'm feeling motivated though, so that's good.Just enjoying a non-working day today. Good as I did an extra shift yesterday and needed a rest. I've done some laundry, then I need to pick up malaria medication and order some currency, and book to have my nails done for a treat.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

It has been a little while, but coming back to work from holiday hit me so hard and I was exhausted. The holiday was amazing, but travel where you get culture shock and a stomach bug is never easy, even if it is interesting and beautiful.Work has been busy being back. I'm struggling with staying up to date with my admin, but I've been good and refused to sacrifice every evening to work, instead making sure I do get to the gym and eat decent food some nights.I've not been able to find much in the way of overtime shifts at the moment, so I haven't done any since before my holiday, and the next one I have booked is in July. I've still managed to put some money towards the student loan though. The savings pot is up to £1,300, and the loan is about £5,500. The plus side of overtime is that I get more time to myself, so there have been some nice days out with friends instead.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

The holiday sounds like a big experience, but I'm sorry you weren't well. That's particularly hard in a foreign country. Perhaps not getting much overtime is a good thing right now as it gives you time to catch up elsewhere and work on the house.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
